mmm, mmmm, good
In the evenings, I've been knitting along on my Morehouse Merino shawl. It's easy peasy to knit (stockinette in the round), but with over 250 stitches it's slow-going. Still, over a few quiet evenings talking with the in-laws, I have made some visible progress. The Germans have been very curious to hear what it is that I'm knitting that is so large and knit in the round. It's so exciting to explain how it's knit in the round and then cut at one point to make a scarf with fringe. Too cool!

Judging from the size of the remaining yarn ball, I'm probably between a quarter and a third done with the knitting. Can I finish it in two weeks?

That is going to be one awesome scarf! I love the colors you are using.
Love the colorway and how it is knitting up :) I think you can finish!
Heck, I'm curious as to how a poncho in the works is going to turn into a scarf! You know you'll have this finished in about 4 days! Loving the posts and pics of the vacation.
Enjoying the reports from Germany, although now I am craving a doner (my husband used to live in Karlsruhe). At least you can get Mozartkugeln and "surprise eggs" (I can say that in German but can't remember how to spell it) for the boys. Maybe you could open a doner and knitting shop in Boston?
The shawl looks good. And your last entry got me slobbering over my laptop. Now I have to go clean up! :p
Hi Alison,
the shawl is looking good. I love the colours you picked for it. I finally managed to make my own blogspot, so now you can see the picture of the HP-sweater I finished a year ago in your last HP-knitalong.
YOU? You'll have it done in a week, tops!
So glad to 'hear' of all the fun you are having on your trip.
Thanks for all the fun updates.
I bet you can finish in two weeks. Those are some mighty pointy circular needles- which brand are they?
Very pretty colors. I guess I will have to check out Morehouse farms at Rhinebeck and then on the way home at their store. I do remember their yarn seems to go on forever. I made one smallish (5 inch across, don't remember how long) scarf and one triangle kercheif and I didn't think I was ever going to use up the yarn.
Can't wait to see the transformation into a shaw.
