tuesday is knitalong day

look at me, I'm giving out stars!

Teacher says, every time a bell rings, a gift knitter gets her star. I've been passing out stars at the holiday knitalong all weekend. There are now over 50 knitters who have completed their holiday gift knitting! I too am inching closer, having finished mom's Koigu socks, just in time for her to take them home with her after her visit.

happy feet

The boys love their new slippers too. Can you tell? They're sitting in their new favorite chair, the Ikea Lomsk chair. They were so excited about the chair they even wanted to help daddy put it together. Good tip on drill use from my son S. (especially for all of us planning on making those Knitty Gritty knit boots):

the drill as a knitting tool - I love it!

Oooooh I can't wait to see how your boots go! I saw the show and have to admit that using 10 dpns was not enticing!

Ha! Yes, that is good advice :)

So glad that you & yours had a wonderful holiday. Best Wishes! And Happy Knitting!

I think your children have a career in Public Service Announcments waiting for them!

OMG! You've started drilling! I'm so jealous! I won't have access to my drill until mid-January. What do you think of the shoes? Are they comfortable? Must start planning lest I get screwed!

OH my God, I laughed aloud when I read what S said. How funny.

Nope, nope, Julia, I don't even have the shoes yet. That's just a picture from the Knitty Gritty website. No worries, I can't start until I get my holiday knitting done!

I had to double check the DIY site to see that you had copied the photo of the shoe. I was worried that I'd gotten behind and not even into the new year yet. LOL

I love the way the colors knit up on your mom's socks. Absolutely Beautiful!

Your boys say the best stuff, ever. I swear! And those socks (all of them!) are just lovely :)

Did you knit those slippers for your boys? (Did I miss that?)

I've been a good knitter -- finished my holiday knitting -- but a bad blogger and have not updated the knit-along blog. Perhaps I'll do that later this week now that the pressure is off -- whew!

So, if I finished all of my projects, then added another on Christmas day and finished that (made up another hat out of leftover yarn), *then* started another project (Miss Dashwood hat for an adorable almost one year old niece) that needs to be finished up by Thursday and I already have a star....does that mean I get extra credit?

...or does it simply mean I'm insane?

out of the mouth of babes! btw, you will note on the last post i left, that my count has changed to 2 of 3, sigh.

Hi Alison hope you had a lovely Christmas. I was so busy finishing up knitting my gifts that I forgot to let you know I had finished! It was a close shave but DH's socks ( the very last to be completed) were kitchenered and wrapped on the 23rd - just before he came home for the last time before Christmas - Phew! - so please can I have a gold star? ( pretty please)

S's comment just made me ROTFL! I needed that today. :) Hope you all had a wonderful holiday. :)

LOL! I've always wondered why guys are so fond of electric tools...

Posted by: di at December 29, 2005 7:21 AM

lol....S is so right...what a comedian. I can't plan to much new project...ive been so swamped...xmas knitting over whelmed me, next year I will not take on more than I can chew.
I'm still working away. I'm making a mini claptois scarf, yes, yes, inspired by you...it's lovely but it takes time. Haven't even had time to wrap my gifts up and send them...even thinking of not bothering with the lables...just to send them off already.
and it seems I need to knit a chemo cap...a collegues mother is going to start chemo soon...she lives in MA, so it's pretty cold there...what is the softest yarn I can use?
I'm catching up on your blog today. Love all your sock...you are so dedicated...awesome!
