merry knitsmas

smile for the... oh, forget it
Before going downstairs to open the presents, the boys and I pulled on our weasley sweaters. I'm thinking of keeping it as a new tradition for Christmas - wearing weasley sweaters, or handknit sweaters to open gifts.

and eat giant Christmas lollipops
And under the tree were a few fabby knitterly things.

A blue sheep mug for my blue blog from Rebecca.

Beautiful blue hand-painted yarn from Dani. I'd been coveting this yarn in her online store and she saved some for me!

Super-funky book, Knitorama, from Lisa (I love this book so much I've already kinda made something from it! More later this week, when I get some buttons to finish it off.)
And the boys were very excited to be able to tell me that there was "yarn for mommy" in their new, big Lego crane set.

see it?
Well, I guess that's what you get when you put yarn on the boys' wish list.

Merry Christmas! Enjoy your leggo yarn!
The best thing about Santa bringing yarn is that it's so nice and lightweight, hardly any extra work for the reindeer.
I like the handknit sweater tradition. We have a "Christmas pajamas" tradition where we get new (and usually) matching pjs Christmas eve. This is why all my pjs are green and red . . .
Merry Christmas! It looks like everyone had lots of fun! I can't wait to have a Weasly myslef, then I can give it to myself at christmas!!
Looks like a wonderful Christmas, Alison.
On your blog recommendation, I got my nearly four-year-old the Kids of Catan game. He *loves* it. Fortunately, no four-hour marathons yet, but I think that's coming. Thanks for sharing how much your boys like it!
looks like you all had a wonderful Christmas! we also have the tradition of new pjs on Christmas Eve ... my 8 yr old figured it out for the first time this year "i bet it's pajamas again" it was pretty funny :)
enjoy your new mug/coaster set ;)
Fab pics ! The boys look so grown up in their Weasley sweaters.
Season's Greetings to you all !
Wow, I'm droolin' over that hand-painted yarn. Can't wait to see what you make with it!
Yarn is the best gift. Way to score!
