Wow, the whole movie? I'd be tempted to hide in the closet all day with that thing!
I'm very tempted to do the same, but I find it difficult to watch such a small screen and knit at the same time maybe i'll try the audio book from the library instead:-)
You have to tell me how you got Azkaban on your iPOD, please, please :) I have been trying to figure it out since I got mine in November.
The mitt is lovely! Oh, I think I'm glad my ipod isn't video... I would be hiding under my desk at work to watch it!
Great mitts!
Who is this Annie? Because I love her bag....
Kim, I don't know if Alison found another way to put whole movies on her pod but I used a set of programs from dvd4ipod.com Basically one program decodes the dvd and the other translates it to an mp4 so that you can play it on your ipod. It's really really simple and they give great directions. Trust me I did it, anybody can do it!
Finally, the kiddie size nbat. Congrats on making the front page - again!
:)
Hi, Colleen--
I'm Annie. I'm an avid blog reader, but I don't blog myself. Too much time away from knitting and designing. The Hermione Bag was a lot of fun to make. I just knitted it flat, with a few garter stitch rows where I wanted the bottom fold to be. I used the self i-cords that I found in the Aran Pocketbook in Knitter's Dozen bags, and then just continued the icords up and around to make a double i-cord handle. Seamed up the sides, and did an attached i-cord all around the top. Lined it with stiff interfacing and a fat quarter of Harry Potter fabric I found on ebay, and voila! A hermione bag. I left it open at the top, but you could certainly add a zipper or one of those magnetic clasps. Please let me know if you have any questions--I'd be glad to help.
I'm tickled that you like the design! Thanks for the compliment.
my ngage phone can run miniature movies too. They are great when you are the taxi driver for your kids and you are sitting waiting for them in a car park ,time flies instead of crawling.
My daughter thought phoebes little boy looked lovely in his Harry Potter stuff. My 2 are a bit old for that now although we all love the books.
You rock, Annie! Thanks for the info!
And no idea how hubby does the computer stuff. I bet it's something like Jen described!
Love the mits! Harry Potter rocks!
Hey, though, I'm part of your Holiday knit along, and finished my last gift the other day, posted it and emailed you....may I possibly ask ever-so humbly for a gold star?
Hi! Really appreciated your blog about knitting & NYC. I am in a similar situation, coming to NYC just for a week(Manhattan) and really would appreciate your help to find the goodies in as short time as possible. Hints, information, what to avoid etc--anything that can make my hunt for THE yarn!
Kind regards,
Elisabeth in Sweden
Saw your boys in their Things 1 & 2 costumes on the MagKnits site home page today. Such cuties!
I love the Hermione mittens! Oh my, if I had Azkaban on my iPod I'd get nothing done at all! All the same... I think I need it. ;)
I love your Hermione Mittens, I've been working on a pair for myself this weekend.
know one mummy is very happy with what I made her toddler. I am working on the last sleeve of my 2nd ballet cardi. i'm still 2 out of 2...2/3rd way up the scarf. i'll you decide if I can enter the competition.
woot on your shoes, i guess we'll see those flying needles soon.
Hi, Alison -- I've been wondering about the fit of the Hermione mittens. I've cast on, and worked the cuff, but I'm wary about thumbs without gussets. What's your experience? My hands are big, and my palms are broad. What do you think? (Yes, of course, I'll rip out if it doesn't work, but if someone else has already done the research. . .)
Elizabeth, there actually is a gusset. It's not a gusset with increases on both sides though, they are just on one side. I was a little unsure about this at first too. But, let me say this clearly - I LOVE mine. The thumb is REALLY comfortable. I say try 'em! Wishing you happy Hermione knitting. :)
