you knit your right sleeve in, you rip your right sleeve out
Okay, so I'm substituting yarns for this monogram sweater and my gauge isn't even close to what it should be. Fine. For the body, I knit a size larger and, trust me, it's plenty big. But the sleeves call for pretty much the same number of stitches to be cast on for all sizes. I stuck with the pattern numbers and the dang thing came out skinny, skinny.

check out the schematic seriously, always check out the schematic
Yeah, it'd be big enough for a little girl's arm, but proportionally it's going to look ridiculous with the rest of the sweater being so oversized. So I'll be ripping it out.
And that's what it's all about!

One thing is for sure---your knitting isn't hokey, and it sure ain't pokey!
Yuck! Second time's the charm hopefully!
I am constantly amazed at how productive you are with knitting. How old are your boys? I have two young kids and can't seem to get anything knitted ever. It's really sad. I get about 1 hour at night after they've gone to bed to knit.
You have such a great attitude about re-doing work. I would have said, "aw, screw it" and sewn it in and given it that way, even if it looked terrible. I hate retracing steps that much. You are an inspiration to get it right!
Gauge gets me every time! And every time I say "It's OK, I can make it work anyway..." Hopefully you have better luck than I usually do! :-)
Great! Guess who's going to be hokey-pokeying all around Downtown today?
you are my hero! i am not at all calm when i have to do ripping... how do you do it?
