the manos, the whole manos, and nothing but the manos

Just because I can't knit any afghan squares right now, doesn't mean I can't pick up some more manos when I see it. I'd been looking for a blue to add to the blanket and I found just the right one at Black Sheep Knitting in Needham last week.

I've now got the variegated and seven solid colors. I think I may be done shopping for the afghan.

And you know what else they have there at Black Sheep besides a huge new shipment of Manos? They have the Synchronicity yarn from Alchemy that I'm using for my Ella Rae t-shirt sweater. (It's at the bottom left in the very bottom picture on this page!) And they're having a sale on all Rowan until tax day.

I don't know how I left that store with just the manos!

The manos is luscious. I'm from Needham and my mom just sold her house there. I love shopping in Black Sheep. I don't get there often now that I'm in TN.

hey, I like the yarn in top right corner, purple/plum shade. I would like to know from which yarn manufacturer and the color code please. thanks!

I would be in so much trouble with a sale like that! I am amazed at your self restraint.

I have been watching your blog for months now, dont remember commenting, but thought it was my timne to say HI to those I watch. I like your site, and your choice of colors! Dont worry about pooling, about anything really, the thought is that you are doing it out of love. Love for knitting, love for the enjoyment of making someone happy, and the love of being accomplished when done. So - enjoy your knitting time, and know someone will be VERY happy!
Now, on the wrist support, my BF is a doctor (chiro) and he suggests (and to me and his mom too) to not only support the wrist, but also YOUR SHOULDERS! Try a stick on heating pad that last over an hour (i suggest Playtex Heat Therapy) - and you will notice a HUGE difference! Also, knit a wrist warner with magnets in it (like beads but magnet beads) and you will notice! (and be stylish...lol)
I just want the best for those I admire! You do GREAT work, I am a mere novice, thanks for your work to see!

Ooooh, a knitted wristlet - I love the idea Gia! I didn't really "get" them fashion-wise, but now I would have an excuse to wear one. Cool, cool. And I think you're absolutely right about the shoulders. My right shoulder gets sore too. Maybe I should buy a hot water bottle and knit a hot water bottle cover for myself!

June, the purpley color is Manos #57. It's not exactly plum colored though - it's a little to red for that. Check out my other posts in the afghan project archives (like this one) for more pictures.

But wait! The HORRORS! Where is my favorite yarn ever!? Where is the purple variegated Manos! WHERE!?

lol

It really is my favorite yarn. I push it on about 3-5 customers a day. Then when people try and buy it I tell them they can't have my yarn!

Gosh, that blue Manos is so gorgeous -- it could be the yarn mascot for your blog dontcha think?

I need to head down 128 and go to Black Sheep. That yarn is gorgeous!!

hmmm, all rowan, maybe I should write them. I will probably need 1 more clamer...I wish I had a store like that where I live...it's all so yummy.

That store is fantastic! I truly admire your restraint. Even their displays were attractive and imaginative. And the yarn. The yarn!

Oh! I've been to that store a few times even though I live in Montana. That is the tiniest little shop - but I've managed to spend over an hour just browsing their packed shelves. Love the town of Needham - have you tried Sweet Basil across the street or Not Your Average Joe's across the town square? They're both great. My son goes to college nearby. Needham is my little otopia town.
