I'm almost done with the gusset decreases and have just finished the first skein of Koigu. Looks like three skeins will do it. Three skeins and seven weeks. It will not be eight weeks though - I am finishing these before the deadline no matter what!

I heart those heels too! Gorgeous! :)
Gorgeous- life in the details, right?
That is a good looking heel. I will have to try it sometimes.
So pretty! It's details like that that really set a pattern apart.
Oooh, gorgeous. I'm loving it. Looks like you just found me the pattern for my next pair! =)
OH I love that heel! I must try it!
I've said it before and I'm going to say it again, I hope they are mine! They look beautiful, just gorgeous!
amazing heel! I'm not a fan of knee socks, but I love that heel! Must.try.pattern.
wow. i love that heel too!
Knee socks, cables and cool heel details. Could it get any better?
Gorgeous! What needle size are you using? I tried addi 2s and 0s and am not finding the love yet with my kooooooigu.
Very nice! Cable freak that I am, I know I will try that sometime.
All the changes that you've made to these socks shows - awesome!
This heel looks fantastic! You can probably use some cheering for the countdown: Go, Alison! ;-)
You are such a knitter to take on KNEE HIGH socks for your sock pal! The heel is the cherry on top.
One of the reasons I love to hand knit socks is once you turn the heel, you feel like you're done! Beautiful socks
I heart that heel too! Wow!
I can't believe you're getting two gigantic socks like that out of only three teeny skeins of Koigu. It's like that thing with the loaves and the fishes.
Blown away by the beauty of the sock! Breathtaking to this knitter/fiberholic. Makes me want to throw the very-first-ever sock I am currently knitting...but I won't, since it is a "learning experience," albeit mindnumbingly boring sock. Your sock, it's beauty, gives me something to aspire to. Thanks for sharing the photo...I had been thinking while working on my mindnumbingly boring sock, that I had wasted $100's on books re how to knit socks, needles for socks and yarn for socks. But now I know the future holds something much more than my plain old boring blue sock. Thank you from the bottom of my yarnaholic heart!
Gorgeous! Any chance you can post the pattern modifications that you made with the cables? I don't know if I could figure out the math as well as you....
I love love love it!! The Koigu colors really go wonderfully with the pattern (really makes the cables stand out, which isn't something I would have expected from a variegated yarn!).
Excellent! The sock looks fantastic! :)
WOW. The heel is great and the rest of the sock that I can see is great.
Lovely heel. Heck, I would have my feet in the air all of the time with heels like that!
Nice heel - looks like it's being hugged!
I am so inspired by your sock that I might just give up my addiction to ankelets to make the same pair!
Your sockpal will be so lucky to get such beautifull socks! Now I want to make a pair for my self.
Yep, that heel is gorgeous!
those are some kind magnificent socks! Whoa - whatta heel.. makes me want to to knit a pair NOW!
Gorgeous! Is that an eye of partridge heel?
it's funny, i had just left a comment (anonymously, lol) on my sock pal's blog that i might be late with her socks, and then i come toyour blog, and find a note to let your pal knowif you're oging to be late. rofl!
So cool! I love the way the cable hugs the side of the heel. Please post the pattern when you are done (if it's not copyrighted of course:))
that sock pattern screams for clogs. yippee for spring!! Have you revealed the pattern?
Thanks folks! As always, check the archive page for the project for the pattern specs. The sock pattern is the Over the Knee Sock from Handknit Holidays. I changed the lace pattern along the back of the leg to a cable pattern, but the heel is exactly as in the book.
That is an awesome cool heel.
Gorgeous heel!!
I love the cable detail up the back - reminds me of old-fashioned (very sexy) seamed stockings! Nothing worse than plain socks in my view, these are spectacular.
These socks are really beautiful! Is the pattern your own design or one that the rest of us Sock Addicts can purchase? It's very different from anything I've seen before - beautiful details. May I be really nosy and ask what yarn you used - I've been drawn to all things green (or greenish) lately and this is so pretty!
