still no picot

I was at least going to go shopping for the ribbon yesterday, but torrential downpours and flash flooding convinced me to stay inside. Luckily, knitbuddy Lisa had a few ribbons to help me get an idea of what kind of look I want.

so, what kind of a look do I want?

I kind of like the plain pink one, but then again, I'm boring like that. I'd love to find a wide ribbon like in the original. In fact, exactly the ribbon in the original would be great. Oh jeez, this is going to be just as hard as picking out buttons!

Go with the solid pink!

The pink/green ribbon competes with the pattern of your awesome sweater--my vote is to go with a solid color ribbon.

I like the pink ribbon over the black, too.

I like the solid pink!

I like the idea of the black ribbon but maybe just a wee bit wider? OR, did you think of trying to find a chocolate brown ribbon? maybe a velvet ribbon?

Posted by: knittingnurse at June 24, 2006 9:49 AM

I definately like the black one. It might be better wider, I agree.

Oh my gosh, I had NO idea that crinkle looks like that finished. Wow! Good luck choosing the ribbon - what a tough decision.

I agree completely with Shelagh. No idea. What a great FO. If you can be patient, try Windsor Button, I think that they have wide ribbon like that.

Oh you're killing me with this crinkle! And I saw a good deal on blue blog blue glace and I'm having a hard time resisting (yes I'm still trying to knit from stash). I'm sort of partial to the striped ribbon or perhaps a plain one in grass green. I love green and pink together. Can't wait to see the finished pic!

I like the solid pink, too. Of course, there's at least one fancy ribbon store in NYC - http://www.hymanhendler.com/ - (Martha Stewart is always referring to it) that probably has just what you want. Perhaps Boston, too, has a fancy ribbon store?

I know it can be hard to match colors online, but you might want to check out this site: http://www.ribbonjar.com/ So many ribbons, so little time! ;)

I love pink and green but I'd go with the solid pink.

Posted by: Lauren at June 24, 2006 11:10 AM

I share the plain pink love.

Posted by: Megan at June 24, 2006 11:27 AM

I like the stripe one...

Posted by: wendy at June 24, 2006 11:30 AM

Another vote for the stripe!

Posted by: Mary de B at June 24, 2006 11:32 AM

The stripe is definitely more fashionable, and it does not compete with the sweater. The black is too 80's (70's?). The pink is "safe".

If you had an inkle loom your could make your own ribbon!
I haven't done this yet, haven't needed ribbon in a while, but I have a friend who says it is great fun.

I really like the green. It complements the pink so well. The solid pink looks like it will get "lost" because it matches so well.
Good Luck. I love what you have done.

Posted by: crzjane at June 24, 2006 8:20 PM

Much as I love the pink & green ribbon, I agree that the plain pink looks much better with the sweater.

Posted by: Donna at June 24, 2006 10:15 PM

I like the pink!!

Posted by: Michelle at June 24, 2006 10:26 PM

Oooh, thanks everyone for all the input! I really like the idea of a solid green ribbon or horizontal stripes like in the original with some green. This has been a HUGE help narrowing down what I should look for when I go to the ribbon store!

Posted by: alison at June 25, 2006 9:11 AM

hmmm, i think a big fat chocolate ribbon would be great - but if i had to pick from the 3... pink
