happy birthday to us

What could be in there?

Legos, of course!

Must. Build. Now.

Aunt and Uncle help out with the (over 1400!) pieces.

Most giantest helicopter ever, done.

Super truck getting the final touches (chassis, frame, interior with hand brake, gear shift, pedals, side mirrors, glove compartment)... and done!

Wheeeeee!

Happy Birthday!
How funny, we just landed in Berlin after a trip to the Cape for 3 weeks. Have a great time here!

Happy, happy birthday! (Imagine me with a mudslide pie in a TJF O'Hooligan's uniform singing this to them in front of a sligtly irritated lunch crowd. It's really the only way.)

Happy Birthday to the boys!!!! How exciting to have a B-Day while visiting the family :) Enjoy the rest of your trip, we miss you!

Happy Happy to all of you. 1400 pieces? OMG!

Posted by: Scout at July 15, 2006 8:11 AM

Amazing Legos! Happy Birthday to the twins! I'm guessing that between the lego-building and that airport display that had them transfixed, that there may be an engineering degree or two in their future. Way cool!

Posted by: Mary at July 15, 2006 8:18 AM

Happy Birthday B & S! Have fun with all those Legos! Enjoy!!!!

Happy Birthday Boys! My son is turns two today, and it'll be a day full trucks and trains!

Posted by: krista at July 15, 2006 8:55 AM

Beyond adorable! You are so blessed. Enjoy every minute.

Happy birthday, guys! Those pictures brought back to me how much I loved playing with Legos as a kid. In those days (as best I recall) they didn't have the sets that built specific things, but my brother and I used the generic Legos and lots of imagination.

Posted by: Lucia at July 15, 2006 9:08 AM

Happy Birthday, Boys!! Awesome work with the Legos. ; )

Posted by: Vicki at July 15, 2006 9:27 AM

My husband is an professor of engineering and would be in heaven with all the legos your boys have! How in the world do you keep them all organized...or do you?

Posted by: Christy at July 15, 2006 10:27 AM

Happy birthday boys! Legos are so awesome. I had a castle lego set - it was like a bagillion pieces and we followed the instructions EXACTLY to get the castle like the picture on the box. It took forever. It was so cool, and then the dog knocked it over. :-( I think my mom still has the legos to this day!

Posted by: Melanie at July 15, 2006 10:28 AM

How cool that you and the boys are all July babies! Legos are the best and take up lots of their attention (knitting time for mom). Happy B-Day to all of you!

Happy birthday!!

I love both of those sets! I think I need that helicopter... so cool! :) [yes, I still collect lego sets.]

Happy Birthday to the boys!

Posted by: Lauren at July 15, 2006 11:49 AM

That's some serious Lego action! What happens when they have to take them home?

Posted by: Mary at July 15, 2006 11:59 AM

Yeah! So glad to see that you are ALL have a fabulous time.

Posted by: knittingnurse at July 15, 2006 12:38 PM

Is it just me, or has lego come a LONG way since we were all kids?

Happy Birthday! Obviously you picked the perfect gift.

Posted by: ~Kristie at July 15, 2006 3:40 PM

Whoa. My babysitter used to have a very small stash of Lego. The Helicopter and the Truck are totally blowing away the little house I used to make.

Posted by: Steph VW at July 15, 2006 6:17 PM

wishing you all much love on the boys' birthday. i wish we were with you to celebrate (although "the ruiner" would certainly have not allowed for such elaborate lego assembly). we'll have to just celebrate everyone's when you return since your gift has been sitting in my car for weeks now...xoxo

Posted by: lisa b at July 15, 2006 6:35 PM

Happy Birthday!!! Please tell me how you store all your Lego sets. My son would love some like that but I haven't a clue how to store the sets separately.

Posted by: Michelle at July 15, 2006 9:04 PM

HB to the twins and cheers to the sheer genius of Mom for choosing differing colored Legos for them. No fighting over whose is which that way.

Posted by: lorinda at July 15, 2006 9:20 PM

They look like they had fun!

Posted by: Kristin at July 15, 2006 10:36 PM

Happy Birthday to S&B! My youngest turned 5 this weekend as well. I always look for your pics of the boys on their birthday!

Posted by: Andrea at July 16, 2006 10:45 AM

Happy birthday!! :)

Posted by: Samantha at July 16, 2006 2:12 PM

He built ALL THAT in one day? And it took me HOW long to make a sock?

I wish I was a kid again!

Congrats!

Posted by: Gia at July 16, 2006 4:24 PM

happy birthday, boys!

now i'm waiting for the weeping & gnashing of teeth when they discover they're going to have to either leave their creations behind, or break them up to get them home.

of course, with my kids, nothing ever gets built more than once. then the pieces get mixed up with their collection (trust me it's huge!) and then they build fantasy stuff

Posted by: minnie at July 16, 2006 10:16 PM

Yea for birthdays, yea for Legos! Happy happy to the boys ~

Posted by: Maggi at July 17, 2006 10:07 AM

Posted by: Orli at July 17, 2006 3:56 PM

Man those look cool! And think of all the learning that is going on while they have fun. You can't beat that.

Posted by: Laurie at July 17, 2006 4:13 PM

What a happy birthday! Your pictures bring back memories of my own boys. They were crazy for Legos, too, and would spend hours making those fantastic creations. Way to go!

Posted by: Becky at July 17, 2006 5:31 PM

Those boys are soooo much older! How fast that must seem to you. Happy birthday to them.

Posted by: Silvia at July 18, 2006 1:33 AM

definitely made it worth it to schlep the legos over there again! Hope you're having a great time. you're lucky to be missing an unbearable heat wave over here.

Posted by: shireen at July 18, 2006 11:23 AM

Hey, I've been in the position of that man in the photo -- the one holding the instruction booklet while the child is building. I've been there on Christmas afternoon so many times! =) Okay, I'll admit, I have just as much fun as my son and we now just acknowledge that the huge Lego toys under the tree are a present for both him AND me.

Posted by: Lauren (Knitting in the Desert) at July 18, 2006 6:29 PM

Those Lego's sure bring back some memories of TLP's early years. Happy Birthday boys!

Posted by: Patty at July 19, 2006 12:19 PM

Happy Birthday boys.

Posted by: Orli at July 19, 2006 12:22 PM
