Ooh, are you referring to the "hippo... hippo..." line from the They Might Be Giants song, or is there another hippo song out there?
Have a wonderful weekend in DC seeing all the neat sights and hope you get to one of those yarn shops the others were mentioning yesterday! Have fun and ENJOY! As always, the boys are the cutest ever!
Psst: Only nonlocals call it the subway. It's the Metro!
Doncha just love the National Zoo?
Your boys are precious, I hope you have a ton of fun in DC.
I see the boys are sporting the latest FAD, the Crocodiles...how are they finding them...I was tempted getting my son these, but thought, the'd fall of his feet.
Oh yeah, TMBG all the way! The boys love that crazy song. The do a funny jerky dance to the mop part. :0)
Psst: I grew up here and know what the subway is called. Only nonlocals call the T in Boston the subway, but I think it helps nonlocals understand what I'm talking about to use the general word, you know? Plus, smile and subway are alliterative and I'm quoting from one of the boys favorite books about subways.
Orli, the boys love their crocs. Since they got them, they haven't worn any other shoes! Their feet do get dirty through the holes - they have to wash their feet every afternoon when we get back from the playground. They don't fall off their feet though.
OMG I thought it was the song from Meet Me in St.Louis!! But I didn't get the hippo part at all. Too funny.
I nearly bought myself some crocs - I hear they are the most comfortable shoes ever.
Hmmmm
Don't you love the Metro?! Almost anywhere you want to go, just hop on and you're there! I spent 3 weeks riding that thing while waiting for my grandson to be born....I got to see LOTS of DC! Enjoy!
Hey there. Hope you didn't think I was being rude. I didn't know you grew up there. I just know a lot of tourists like to try to blend in, and most people I know want to use the local terminology when they go anywhere. Sorry!
Oh, that's Zoo--not the 700 club
