the blue blog archives: baby bamboo

The super sweet Michelle at The Sweet Sheep sent me this super soft Katia bamboo in both pink and blue to congratulate me on the upcoming baby. Isn't that nice?! I can't think of anything better to use for the first booties for baby. We still have to wait two more weeks to find out if it's a boy or a girl, so let's see if I can get one pair of booties finished for each possibility. I'll be ready!

As there seems to be an explosion of pregnant women (congrats to your whole brood :) ) I have been looking for a great bootie pattern, which one are you planning to use?

Jenny, my favorite bootie pattern is Fiber Trends CH-36: Baby Basics. I really like the way the booties come out and the fact that they have little ties to help hold them on. I always just follow the ribbed bootie instructions, but make them with a rolled edge usually. So look for those in pink and blue coming soon!

I LOVE that Katia Bamboo yarn. I bought some on eBay in a yummy aqua & it is so scrumptious. I'm trying to decide what to make with it. It would look fantastic on my older grandson (he's a few months younger than your boys & very similar coloring) but it would also be great for the baby. But I've been knitting like crazy for the baby & I don't want the boys to feel left out & #1 DGS's BD is just a few days before the baby will be born.
