pumpkin's progress

The boys are in school already, so the ironing board had to stand in as model, but here's the weekend progress on the costumes. The pumpkin bodies are all done (thanks to hubby spending an hour threading the elastic through the casings!) and I'm down to just finishing the green parts. The leaf needs elastic still and then I've got the stem hoods to sew. We're getting there!

WOW! my first attempt at a halloween costume (last year) has forced the relatives to buy her one early, so that I didn't attempt it again! You are SO talented!

I'm in awe of your talent, and touched by what a sweet mom you are.

SO cute! Can't wait to see the boys in their pumpkins.

My boys are going to be pigs this year, and though I'm starting with pink-hooded sweatsuits and therefore have minimal sewing to do (ears, tails, hooves), it has become quite the chore! So I truly admire your hard work and talent.

Those are adorable! As is the Kimono. Handmade things are so wonderful.

So cute! When I was a kid, my mom sewed my sis and I Halloween costumes. It allowed us to where bulky warm clothes underneath and when we moved to CA where it wasn't so cold, my mom stuff me with newspaper. I think I was a pumpkin every year until I was like 14 and creative enough to come up with something else!

Terribly cute! I bow to your superior motherly motivation. I admit, I purchased two costumes at Superstore for $19.99 each, and thought I was doing magnificently by taking up Superman several inches to fit my son because there wasn't one in his size.

How splendid! My mom's greatest sewing costume endeavour, I think, was the year she showed up at my school dressed as an ice cream cone. It was pretty great. I really admire sewers. ^_^ And I also like watching Charlie Brown with said mother. Halloween is so great!
