little limbs

(Two posts today! I gotta make up for yesterday, I know.)

Poor Dolly still has no eyes - I just can't seem to be able to find the time to get over to the crap store to buy some (see my previous post) - but I did manage to knit her little limbs.

It's kinda cool making baby parts on a doll while making baby parts in the womb as well. Here's how wee one's little limbs are coming along.

Future knitter's hands maybe?

I can't even count how many times I just said "awwwwwwww." Of course she will be a knitter!

What a wonderful baby picture...look at those hands!

How about knitting tiny bobbles or embroidering little french knots for the eyes? That way, no fear about the eyes falling.

Great pairing of photos!

Definitely a knitter; quite possible a pianist as well by the looks of those LONG fingers!

I hate sewing on buttons for eyes, so I started needle felting them on. SOOO much better, and no safety issues! A handful of black and white roving will keep you toy eyeballs for years...

Why do those 'in the womb' pictures make me tearey-eyed, even when it's someone else's baby? I love that the Bible says we were 'knit together' in our mother's womb! I can hardly wait to see pictures of her on the outside!

I've got five children and none of them have choked on a dolly eye. Sew them on like your life depends on it (or your baby's does) and it's not likely that they'll ever come off. At least not in this generation.

Tiny baby finger bones are the best. What a cutie she'll be.

Look at those long fingers! A knitter for sure. :)

I love that ultrasound picture! I'm five weeks away from being able to know if doll knitting is in my future. :)

Posted by: Brynne at October 12, 2006 1:17 PM

Wow, that ultrasound pic is amazing! How exciting!

Posted by: Mary at October 12, 2006 1:40 PM

That is a great ultrasound picture! None of mine have been so clear...

Posted by: Jenny at October 12, 2006 2:46 PM

How amazing is it that the clearest parts of the ultrasound picture are her head and her hands! Definitely an artist of some sort -- knitter, crafter, musician, who knows?

If not a knitter, then a blogger? Cool Picture!

She will learn knitting in the womb, like Meg Swanson learned from her mom (the great Elizabeth Zimmerman.)

great photos of the little girls....

Posted by: Michelle at October 12, 2006 5:20 PM

Those definitely look like little knitter hands. :)

Oh so precious, the little doll and the future knitter's picture!!! Congratulations yet again, are the boys looking forward to a new little sister??

Posted by: Allie at October 12, 2006 5:46 PM

Those are long fingers for such a wee one! I hope you're feeling well. I felt ill till 20 weeks - I think morning sickness was harder on me than labor and delivery!

Posted by: Elinor at October 12, 2006 5:58 PM

Wow. That is an awe inspiring picture!

Posted by: Peeve at October 12, 2006 6:32 PM

A girl! YEAH!!

I am knitting that same doll right now. I had no idea it was knit from the bottom up.. I was wondering why what I thought was the head was so pointy!! I guess I messed my colors up then.. I changed the colors a bit and thought I was knitting the head first! Oh well, the hair will just have to be the same color as the body. Thanks for the revelation!
