I finally got down on the floor this week and started cutting out pumpkin pattern pieces for the boys' costumes.
I even brought all the fabric down last night to start pinning and cutting fabric, but then discovered that the boys had built a giant train track across the whole living room floor while I was getting their bath ready before bed. I couldn't take it all apart when they only got to play with it for a few minutes. So the actual pumpkin pieces will have to wait another day or two. Keeping our priorities straight here, you know.

At least you can still get down on the floor!
Wow, that looks involved. I am making my first Halloween costume this year, but nothing that detailed!
When does sockap4looza start allison? Also, I was wondering if I might be allowed to send you a RAOK which I think you'll like very much?
I cheat. I trace it on clear "drop-cloth" plastic and cut each piece out as I go. It lets me keep the pattern paper in tact but it's also a sanity saver when you live in small places. :-) I don't have to spread anything out too much.
And I NEVER would have gotten to the fabric AND pattern cutting in one night. That's just.... Well, it never happens in my world. ;-)
You are such a good mommy...the boys and the little girly one are lucky. Belated congratulations by the way! Three boys here and I am jealous! Pink stuff...you lucky girl!
I haven't blogged in a while and that is on my "list" for this weekend, but your post about Pumpkin costumes brings back a hysterical memory.
I made my DD#2 a pumpkin costume one year (over 30 years ago)using coat hangers and lots of orange fabric...finished it, including a hat for the "topper" and all ready to get out the door to start the T & T and she couldn't get out the front door of the house!!! I had obviously been quite zealous in my attempts to make a "roomy" pumpkin costume and it was too large. She "undressed" and I move the pumpkin outside and we dressed on the front step! She wasn't a happy girl but it was a funny, funny night...:)
Good luck with your costumes!
What a good mother you are!!! I would have gotten in trouble for that when I was a kid! Your boys (and new baby girl) are lucky to have you. Congratulations on a healthy and happy family.
My son wants to be a pumpkin as well. I was going to wing it but then seeing you have a pattern . . . what pattern do you have? A quick trip to the local crap store to purchase said pattern may not be a bad idea.
So envious that you make the twins costumes. We retired Harry Potter this year and E will be a Pirate instead.
my sons always want to be something from video games. this year is relatively easy, once i saw the character. roy from super smash brothers melee (look it up, lol) which is a blue top, white pants and purple cape, with a big silver sword. yippee!
