Knitting dolly was fun. The tiny parts went fast. Sewing on the limbs was a little tricky, but I just kept at it, trying to get the legs parallel to each other so they would look even. And once I got those eyes on, it was like she was a little person. Seriously, it felt so weird to have my hands in her head tying yarn ends once she had those shiny black eyes looking out at me.
They're crocheted booties that look like mary janes with little ruffled socks. Aren't they adorable?! Thanks so much - I love them. And they were a huge hit at Knitsmiths. I hope they'll ooh and ahh that much when the baby comes!

I think I looked that big with #2 at about 7 weeks... HA!
Such a cute dolly!
Dolly is adorable. YOU look fantastic! A baby bump suits you. The booties are very sweet too.
I'm at 19 weeks too :o) But my belly shot is a little bit...well...bigger. Seeing your cute pink booties and maryjanes makes me want to find out the gender of my twins :o)
the dolly is very cute! lots of personality... it is funny how adding eyes brings a toy to life.
What a cute doll! I can totally relate to the experience, as I'm currently knitting little bears. Once you get the ears on, they go from being shapeless lumps to identifiable bears! My first bear is practically doing the splits, so I'll need to work pretty hard to get their legs anywhere near straight.
Great job!
Sweet dolly!
btw Alison, the text link to bloggybabybumpers is currently pointing to bloggybabybumpers.com (which is a random page of adverts) instead of the blog page. The button above goes to the right place.
very cute dolly! Nice job!
Dolly came out adorable! Her little dress really "makes" her. So sweet. You'll really enjoy this little baby so much - just being one of her. heh
Is it tacky of me to ask if there will be another round of S'pooza any time soon? I'm trying not to overcommit on other things - holding a space in my knitting future for that project if it's coming along. :)
dolly is too cute! i wonder what it would take to get more printings made of jess hutch's book... there's definitely a demand!
what a cute doll!!! and congratulations for the baby!
you and i are at about the same week pregnancy-wise! my belly is just starting to pop though :)
That dolly is positively adorable! And the booties are all kinds of fabulous, too. That's one lucky babe-to-be! *grin*
Cute booties! Now I want to know where she got that pattern... I recently knit up some similar ones from this pattern:

If you find out what the crochet pattern is, would you post it on the blog??
Cute doll! Have you seen the baby bobbi bear pattern from blue sky alpacas? I just finished knitting one this weekend and it was very fun and very cute knit. And the blue sky alpaca cotton feels soooo soft.
Those booties are soooo cute. Even makes me think about learning to crochet!
yay for little girls!! My little one is now almost 7 mos old so I was about the same as you a year ago!!
The doll is adorable and those eyes are perfect!
Okay, seriously, I am not a bootie gal, but I would SO put those Mary Jane's on my baby's feet... and he's a BOY! :)
Love the dolly. Love the belly. :)
Love your Jess Hutchinson doll! It's actually the second one of her patterns I've seen finished today - there's another one here: http://bittersweetblog.wordpress.com/2006/10/17/a-brown-furry-thief/
Ooh what a cute doll, and those Mary Jane booties are just so adorable, and I am sure that the ladies will ooh and aah over her, no worries about that. Your tummy looks so tiny, but I suppose it does not need to stretch as much as it did the first time around with two babies. You look very good for being so far along.
I think there's going to be a lot of 'awwwwwing' going on in the posts for the next few months. ;)
Isn't it fun to make girly things? and toys, toys are addictive ! Be careful.
The Mary Jane booties are adorable. Where can I buy a pattern?
Lots of sweetness here, the doll, the belly, the booties.
I so understand about the eyes! I just took a needlefelting class last week, and when the instructor showed us how to put the finishing touches on the eyes, just the tiniest bit of white "reflection" in each eye, she said they call that putting in the the "spark of life" and explaining that some people don't put it in until the very end since you have to keep needling the doll over and over, long after the face is done, She just wanted us to know that we could do so whenever each of us felt comfortable with it and not to feel weird if we couldn't do it until the very end.
The Mary Jane lookalikes are adorable!
Your little 'girl' looks so sweet!
HA - the booties are great!
Those Mary Janes are so cute, I've always been partial to Mary Janes myself. (When she gets bigger, they make ones with velcro!)
And you and the doll look great too! :)
Awww...dolly's cute. Love the mary Jane and I normally don't like crochete stuff.
Belly's looking good, still don't look very pg to me...are you tall? anyway, almost half way there...doesn't time fly.
I love your baby bump. Congratulations!! What an exciting time. Also the dolly is so very cute. I would love to make one. Did you get the pattern from a book or modify a pattern? I would love to make one for my neice who is having a girl soon. I have been looking for a little doll pattern and this is the cutest one I have seen.
If you have a yen to make more dolls, check out the free pattern on the Canadian Living web site. I keep meaning to make some for my daughter but I'm not sure I'm meant for teeny limb knitting:
