blue bunnies

Anyone remember this scarf from this summer? I started knitting it for the store back in June and then got pulled away by design work until now. Since it's now time to be knitting scarves and selling warm, fuzzy angora yarns, it was time to finish up this scarf and get it in the store!

oooh, blocking lace is fun!
Making this scarf was really great. The Angora Extra is super soft (the bunnies on the label are sooo cute!) and the lace pattern (from Ella Rae Book Two) is a basic pattern that only has two different lace rows and was easy peesy to learn. I'd definitely recommend the scarf as a good first lace project to beginners (or lazy experienced knitters like me!).

And it's just so darn pretty!

Really pretty! Is that a version of the lace pattern used in the Sheland triangle in Wrap style? It looks very similar if not identical, If so you could make that shawl too :-)
That is very pretty - nice work Alison.
Absolutely beautiful. I love the color and the design, and the yarn is perfect.
Scrumptious!

So very pretty and cozy-looking! I love that soft color of blue as well.
I would have to agree with you -- very pretty! I think it would be a pretty pattern with a gently variegated yarn, as well.
Very pretty - love the colour, too!
OOh, I'd love to have that scarf around my neck right now--it's cold here in Wisconsin!
Very nice scarf Alison! I also think the pattern looks like the Shetland Triangle.
May I ask you how you blocked it? It looks like it's pinned out on a couple of towels on top of a carpet on a hard floor, is that correct? Because I have the hardest time finding somewhere to block my lace (all 2 shawls to date :-) All the suggestions I've found involve either wall to wall carpeting (which we don't have) or the bed (which isn't long enough for big shawls like my last one, 90"!) Do you have any problems with the floor getting damp? We have wooden floors and dampness isn't good for them. Any tips will be most appreciated!
Malin, I just moved things to the carpet to get the light coming from the window. I usually block on the hardwood floor somewhere out of the way (we've only got throw rugs in the middle of rooms). I usually claim a space somewhere and first lay out bathmats. Then I put several layers of towels over that, and then block the piece on those. If I'm just blocking lace, there isn't usually that much water, so the four layers or so are plenty to keep any water from getting to the floor. If I'm blocking a sweater, I'll usually change the towels out for dry ones a couple of times, so the bath mats don't ever get sopping wet.
Best of luck!
