mini mitts

Whew, long time, no see, and very little knitting! And I mean very little.

Like wee little mittens to match wee one's funky pixie hat. Can you imagine the teeny tiny hands that are going to fit in there? I followed the thumbless baby "bold banded mittens" pattern in Zoe Mellor's Adorable Knits for Tots, since they're, well, adorable.

Like the hat, the mitten pattern was very clear and it looks awesome in that fabulous Cadenza yarn from Colinette. And I've still got yarn left from that one hank! I feel a strange desire to add little pompoms to the mitten cuffs or maybe to the top of the hat. You can't really have too many funky pompoms can you?

Up next, me catching up on life after a crazy, hectic holiday weekend, and a Bee's Knees sock yarn sweater for wee one!

I saw the Cadenza at Woolwinders in MD over the weekend. It was so soft! Unfortunately, even though it was somewhat affordable (theirs was $10.50 a hank), I had no money for yarn buying. But I'm going to buy some eventually. It looks so nice knitted up!

And of course, cute mittens! I love thumbless mittens.

Oh, that set is adorable. I vote for more poms too - kids can never have too many pom poms! That colorway is beautiful all knit up!

Those are so cute. I agree that you can't have too many pompoms. How about three marching up the front of the hat to the tip?

So cute!! You could also put little mini poms on the tips of the mittens - that would be really sweet, too!

adoreable it is. if you go for the pom pom put it on that hat, you wouldn't wee one eating it.

I am telling you, you are going to have the best dressed baby on the block.

those are soo cute! growing up my mom made my mittens, which were always attached to eachother with a long crochet chain so they could go thru sleeves. i wonder if it could work for baby mittens to keep them on?

I can't wait to see what you decided for the sweater, after all those great suggestions!

Yup. Top of the hat needs a pompom. So cute! You could have little tassels dangling from the mitts.

I can hardly stand it! those mitts are just way too cute! and to see them modeled on the winnie the pooh would just about make me melt! can't wait to see the bee's knees sweater all knit up!

I have been reading you for a while and I have to say that those baby mittens are quite possibly the cutest little things that I've ever seen!

What an adorable baby set, and the color is just so gorgeous. Maybe make a third mitten just in case one gets lost, or maybe some little booties.

those mittens are gorgeous, and so is the hat!

I'm using cadenza (monet) for a clapotis at the moment, isn't it just heaven to knit with? I love it!
