i heart this baby sweater

Somehow, little by little, over the course of weeks, I managed to knit the back of wee one's bees knees sweater. I don't know when I did it really - stockinette stitch on US2's in white will numb the senses, let me tell you - but after what was probably dozens of brief knitting sessions, I was at the top where the little design goes. The options in the pattern call for either a big stripe or a little rectangle. That was all too square for me, so I gave wee one a tiny pink and brown heart.

And now she needs some serious blocking. I'm blocking in the new year!

That is too precious. I can't wait to see it on the model. When are you due again?

That is too adorable!! I hope you get a reprieve form white stockinette on the other side of the sweater!

Love the little heart. Can't wait to see the finished project (both sweater and baby!) :)

Are the boys helping you guys pick out her name?

When I was about their age, I picked out my baby brother's name. I named him after the oldest son on The Brady Bunch. I figured since he would be the oldest boy, that should be his name.
The name fits him well by the way. :)

that looks like a chocolate-dipped heart--sweet!

Aww, that's very sweet. Size 2 needles? That sweater will last to her baby! How nice that you got so much more knitting done than you expected!

Very sweet - a chocolate dipped strawberry heart to go with the Neapolitan ice cream fronts!

almost looks like a heart balloon, i am loving the color, and your duplicate stitch is delightful. mine always looks like a mess.

You are just so darn Clever and Cute to boot!

I can't wait to see the little bambina in all these beautiful creations.

So, which one is she coming home in or have you NOT decided yet????

How sweet! I "heart" that colorway of Trekking ... which (naturally) I have found is discontinued. I like Donna's image of a chocolate dipped strawberry heart ... perfect for your sweet babe.

I like your little heart much better than the pattern ideas! So cute :)

Nice Work. Stockinette on tiny needles... tell me about it

The heart was definitely the right option. It is really sweet.
Looking forward to seeing it all together.

The heart is so cute--much more so than a rectangle!

Awwwwwww!

It's beautiful. But I all I can think about is--it's WHITE. I could never handknit a WHITE sweater for any child. You must be SuperMom...I bow in your presence.

Love the heart! It's perfect, especially in that Trekking colourway.
