that other little project

It's not just all baby sweaters and baby hats around here. I'm making an actual baby! Time for another belly shot:

And this belly's moving! Check out the video:

What a great gift you've shared! My youngest is weeks away from being 20 and my oldest almost 25. I LOVED every second of every pregnancy and especially loved the dancing and movement. Thanks for the wonderful stroll down baby memory lane!
Happy Healthy new year to you and yours!

Ahhh! You have an alien!

Congratulations, and what a wild video!

Posted by: Sarah at December 29, 2006 4:15 PM

That is soooo cool! Thank you for sharing. I always loved watching my belly move when my son was inside. It certainly made boring meetings far more pleasant!

Posted by: Lori at December 29, 2006 4:27 PM

My youngest is almost 4 and I remember that feeling very well. I think I miss that the most about being pregnant. You look fantastic! How are you feeling?

Posted by: Michelle at December 29, 2006 4:31 PM

Oh my goodness, Alison, thanks for that! Best fun I've had all day. You've certainly got a lively one in there. ; )

Posted by: Vicki at December 29, 2006 4:40 PM

That's so cool. It made me remember what it was like to have that little bean in utero! She's only 4 months old now but I've already forgotten the crazy belly dancing! Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night and I could swear that I felt a baby kick. Weird, huh?

Posted by: Elinor at December 29, 2006 4:44 PM

OMG! *That* is what I miss most about pregnancy. I spent HOURS watching my tummy do that kind of stuff. How wonderful! Thank you for sharing.

Posted by: bfmomma at December 29, 2006 4:51 PM

So cool! I'm at about 11 weeks and I'm already imagining that I'm feeling it. I felt my first one just once at 14 weeks then he really got going about three weeks later.

Posted by: Sarah at December 29, 2006 4:58 PM

"Mom, send more sugar!" My 7-year-old trained me to eat a piece of fruit before I went to bed while he was still hanging out so he could do the sugar dance.

Thanks for sharing the video. It reminded me of my daughter. Each night when I relaxed on the recliner she started making La Ola waves in my belly ;-)

Posted by: Petra at December 29, 2006 5:13 PM

Oh my! Did you drink an entire jug of orange juice for that one??? You better be careful, it looks like she is trying to untie your belly button from the inside and make for an early escape!

Girls are trouble!

(That has got to be the best video ever, you should put that on YouTube!)

Posted by: Amy Lu at December 29, 2006 5:18 PM

Love it!!!! My younger daughter was that active. We were visiting some friends when I was about 7 months pregnant & I was wearing a T shirt. One of the guys who sitting across the room was just flabbergasted at the way my belly moved (just like yours in the video). That daughter (now 30) just had her 3rd child (1st girl) & she was pretty active too.

Posted by: Donna at December 29, 2006 5:40 PM

Oh! My Roman used to move around like that!

Posted by: Carrie at December 29, 2006 6:25 PM

What a busy baby! My 6 month old was like that but his big brother...not so much. It facinated me (and again the big brother...not so much). Thanks for posting that, I loved it.

Posted by: Cambria W at December 29, 2006 6:46 PM

Thank you for sharing that! My youngest daughter just turned 35! Watching your little one moving brought back those precious moments that I delighted in so many years ago. You will not believe how quickly the years rush by.

Posted by: Donna at December 29, 2006 7:07 PM

That is so great! I was always so in awe everytime my belly moved. I felt like the whole world should stop what they were doing to watch. I could watch that video all day long! Dance Wee One, Dance! Oh I miss the belly, enjoy yours.

Posted by: Johanna at December 29, 2006 7:08 PM

Thanks for sharing your precious little dancer. That's a feeling you never forget.

Posted by: ellen at December 29, 2006 7:16 PM

Thank you so much for sharing that. It's been 12 years since I was pregnant and I can still remember what that feels like. One of life's greatest joys!

Enjoy your sweet baby :-)

Posted by: Donna at December 29, 2006 7:29 PM

I love seeing that. My oldest turned 21 yesterday and I'd almost forgotten how weird and wonderful that alien dancing period was.
Thanks.

Posted by: Eileen at December 29, 2006 8:18 PM

Is the baby always so active or did you eat something? It always made me feel a bit seasick.

Posted by: Kathleen at December 29, 2006 8:30 PM

Wow! Look at her go! Impressive Alison, impressive.. Scott wanted me to mention that your baby has better moves than he does :).. I didn't say that.. he did! The boys shirts are so frickin cute!

How exciting! I can only imagine what your family thinks considering my hubbie, 15yr old and 9 yr old all took turns watching and thought it was awesome! Personally, it brought back a flood of feelings (the belly kind) and emotions. Thanks SOOOO much for sharing.

Posted by: roberta at December 29, 2006 8:48 PM

Thanks for the video. I loved every moment of pregnancy. It brings back great memories!

Posted by: Saleknitter at December 29, 2006 9:09 PM

Alison, that is so cool. Boy, you better get some dance clothes/shoes ready. That one is going to be a natural at dancing!

Posted by: knittingnurse at December 29, 2006 9:30 PM

Thank you for that video. It brings back fond memories. She surely is a squirmy one!

Posted by: LaurieM at December 29, 2006 9:55 PM

Oh my...that brings tears to my eyes as it reminds me of my sweet babies moving around...so many years ago.

There is just nothing like it!

Blessings to you and your growing babe.

Also...thanks for the fun shopping links!
I love the monsters.

She is goin' to town!! Woo hooo! That's one thing I miss about being pregnant... the peanut doing her kung fu moves in my belly. Happy New Year to you and yours!

Posted by: Karma at December 29, 2006 11:24 PM

My dd used to do that during the day at work :) My ds used to do that at night during sleep :( It is such an amazing experience. Great that you captured it on film.

Posted by: Rosa at December 30, 2006 7:58 AM

You are so darned cute! xoxo

Posted by: sandy at December 30, 2006 8:47 AM

Wow - with all that movement are you sure there aren't twins in there too?!

Posted by: Angie at December 30, 2006 9:07 AM

:) that's what i see almost every night! my baby is active ALL THE TIME. it's so strange.

Posted by: gleek at December 30, 2006 9:57 AM

The rolling around had to be the best thing about pregnancy. thank you so much for showing that.

Posted by: Monique at December 30, 2006 11:00 AM

I'm lying on the couch with the laptop on my lap and as I'm watching your video my 36 weeks belly is moving too ;o)

Wish you a happy new year Alison.

Posted by: karen at December 30, 2006 11:14 AM

My goodness! You have a tiny person in there! Thank you for sharing such a sweet and special thing!

Posted by: Elspeth at December 30, 2006 11:46 AM

Looks like there's a very good baby in there!

Posted by: Stephanie at December 30, 2006 4:08 PM

Oh my gosh...what did you eat? LOL
my son never did that...I used to go lie on my side to feel him...he was even sleepy when my water broke, they told me to eat some chocolate and wake him up.

Posted by: Orli at December 30, 2006 5:08 PM

The belly movements were my favorite part of being pregnant. Looks like you have an active one on your hands! Congratulations.

Posted by: Jennifer at December 30, 2006 6:24 PM

How wonderful! I think she's doing the Macarena in there. ;-)

Posted by: Heidi at December 30, 2006 6:38 PM

Too cool! Thank you for sharing! So sweet.

Posted by: Donna S. at December 30, 2006 7:07 PM

Wow thats so amazing. I know exactly what you are feeling as I type the foot is booting me in the ribs....... Best wishes

Posted by: charisse at December 30, 2006 7:37 PM

Oh, how I miss that! That was my favorite part of the 3rd trimester...love that secret communication between baby and mama! My baby turns 11 this winter. Sigh.

Posted by: Kris in TX at December 30, 2006 8:45 PM

Holy crap! That baby is moving! That is amazing. What a miracle! What fun! You must just watch your belly all the time - it would beat the heck out of anything going on on tv. =) When are you due?

Posted by: carrie at December 31, 2006 6:46 AM

Your movie brings it all back! I think watching the baby groove was one of my few good memories of my pregnancies (I was sooooo sick and CRAZY!) Check you out, rocking the red cables--the sweater looks perfect.

Posted by: suzanne at December 31, 2006 9:07 AM

I have to ask...when is the baby due? You look fabulous! Hope you enjoyed your Christmas and that you are looking forward to ringing in the New Year this evening.

Posted by: Maggie at December 31, 2006 10:08 AM

That is just so cool! I remember days like those. Touching their feet when they planted them flat against the tummy.
Thanks so much for sharing!
:)

Posted by: Micky at December 31, 2006 11:38 AM

Aww!! How fun. Maybe I won't miss having babies and being pregnant so much if people keep putting pictures and videos of their bellies and babies on their blogs. :)

I still have a little gifty for WeeOne but am waiting a little before sending!

Posted by: Laura at December 31, 2006 1:36 PM

That absolutely made my day! I am smiling from ear to ear and brimming with warm, happy thoughts of you and memories of my own. Thank you.

Posted by: Patti at December 31, 2006 9:11 PM

Love it and it brought back memories of lying in the tub watching my belly move. The boys look great!

Posted by: Patricia at January 2, 2007 8:16 AM

Awesome video, thanks for sharing. :)

Posted by: Samantha at January 4, 2007 9:50 AM

So, has your baby hit anybody? LOL! Thanks for sharing that fun!

I loved the rolling boys in my belly. I had the biggest laugh once when I was passing behind my husband's chair and the oldest boyo kicked or punched so hard he hit his daddy in the head! :)

Posted by: Kathleen at January 4, 2007 2:04 PM

wooooooowwww!!!!!!! thank you for sharing the video.. it's sooooo amazing. :)
best wishes from Argentina,
Frani
