holiday all stars

I'm back! A few lingering little blog problems (comments, oh comments, where did you go? and did you take the archives with you?), but my host is still recovering from a weekend hacking incident, so let's give him a break. And let's talk final holiday knitting!

I may not have finished all my holiday knitting (one baby sweater still overdue and two sock creatures still left to be sewn), but lots of the knitters over at WWLAHKG did! Go check out all those stars. And gifts!

So that means it's time for me to give away some knitgifties, which the holiday all-stars can use for some January selfish knitting or earmark for gifts for next year. And they are:

two gorgeous hanks of Hipknits hand-dyed silk in gray

two balls of Knitpicks Wool of the Andes in Pumpkin
(this would make a great hat or mittens!)

two balls of Knitpicks Essential sock yarn in navy
(looooove this sock yarn - soft, washable, beautiful colors)

one big ball of Regia Africa sock yarn from Germany!

I'll be pulling names later today from among the holiday knitters who earned their star, so update me right away if you finished all your holiday knitting. And then tune in next time for the winners!

Note: No need to post your comment multiple times. Comments are coming into the system (you can see the comment count increase if you refresh this main page), just some program glitch is causing only the first comment of the day to show up. My master webmaster is working on it!

I am one of the Holiday All-Stars, although my accomplishments were modest: one sweater for an 18-month-old, one Muppet-fur scarf, and the one-cable scarf from ONE SKEIN.

Glad to see you back- I missed you this weekend. Myself I still have three Christmas gifts to finish--I totally over extended myself this year.

I would love any of the wool you have up there. Although, I am especially fond of socks!

I love your blog, keep up the great work!

Thanks for letting us know your opinion on KnitPicks Essential. I've been thinking about trying it out, but after a bad experience with Patons Kroy, I've been wary of inexpensive sock yarn.

And thanks for running the knitalong again! It was so fun to see everyone's projects, and such a great motivator!

Tech guy was up v. v. late last night -- or shall I say early this morning? -- but was pretty happy with his progress. If you haven't dropped him an e-mail telling him about the comments and archives, you should!

Show yarn and we come out to comment. ;) I finished my knitted gifts-2 pairs of gloves for my mom and socks for my daughter's doll. Just wait until you start knitting and sewing for dolls-FUN!

I love the Regia Yarn. In Germany we have to famous sock yarn companies: one is Regia and one is Opal. I already knitted a pair of socks out of the africa yarn, but in differnt colours. You can see them here: http://katjaquilt.blogspot.com/2006/12/socks-no-5.html

LOVE THE "at mitt" as modeled by da BEAR. Cute. And how fortunate are those who earned their stars. Maybe another year.

Finished! Let me see... 7 hats, 2 scarves, a baby blanket... I think that's all. I've been knitting less than a year and knew I couldn't over-extend, plus I started these in August or September. I do admit to finishing the baby blanket minutes before I wrapped it, though, LOL.

Urp... I'm embarrassed to realize AFTER I posted that your contest is only for your KAL members. Apologies. Profound ones.

ooh, what goodies, shame I didn't do any holiday knitting this year, however, I do have some Essential in my stash, thanks to SIL.
