where are they now: the weasley sweaters

And I thought they'd outgrown them!

The boys' weasley sweaters from two Christmases ago still fit. They seemed like the perfect thing for them to wear on the coldest day of winter so far. Warm but light, that Rowan Felted Tweed was just right! (And so was a trip to the neighborhood Dunkin' Donuts where I snapped these pics with my camera phone.) The boys still love the sweaters too: "Oh, look my H sweater!" And two days later: "Are we wearing our H shirts again?"

And did I mention that they still fit?!

Ahhhhh the cuteness! The boys have the best sweaters and the best smiles. :) And the best of all, the best Mom!

An illustration of the virtue of knitting in a larger size for children! Their smiles for the camera are a hoot.

It's amazing how long hand-knits will last for kids! My little one is wearing stuff from two years ago too!

That's awesome! Its not too often kids get that much use out of a handknit ... any article of clothing for that matter. :)

Interesting that you post your boy's Weasley sweaters today, as I just finished up a Weasley last night!
Heres hoping that my nephew's head will fit through the neck opening!

(I subbed WoolEase from my stash since I wanted something easy peasy for my sister to launder - my nephew is only one year old :)

How cute! I'm going to have to knit a Weasly after my little dude is born -- it's such a perfect little sweater.

ACK! they are so cute! and those sweaters looks so warm and cozy! i'm glad they still fit since little boys grow like weeds!
and it's so funny how the twins' teeth are even the same! :o) hope your contractions are lessening and that you have a great day!

Ahh those sweaters are so GREAT! And I love that he's showing off the tooth. heh Bad on me not remembering *which twin* it is. B or S. heh Have they worn the sweaters enough to really know how the yarn will wear? Any pilling or anything? The yarn looks so great for that pattern.

Saw your Harry Potter knitting book on Amazon this weekend, I can't wait to get it. Can you give us a sneak preview?

Posted by: jackie at January 30, 2007 3:53 PM

Speaking of HP Knitting, I just found out about your book the other day. Congrats! Can you give us some details (when it's coming out, etc.) and perhaps some project previews or any other info? Curious and eager minds want to know...

The boys look sooo cute, don't those smiles just make you feel better-and I sure hope you are feeling better! I love the tweed yarn you used for the sweaters, very Harry Potterish!

The sweaters still look as new, they're lovely!

Ps- I definitely want to sign up for sockpalooza 4 when it opens!

There is something about handknits and boys that they last for far longer than we think they will. They just seem to grow with the boys--I know mine keep pulling on their old sweaters and won't stop wearing them. And those dear sweaters just seem to keep fitting.
