« why didn't i knit myself a maternity sweater? | Main | you've seen it in the comments, now it's official »

how fast can you knit a sweater?

With all the baby preparations, I've fallen behind in my design commitments. I absolutely had to take a couple days off to get the baby room ready though - if wee one came early, I'd be behind on my work and she'd have no bed! But now that her room at least looks like her room (no more office, no more computers, but I still have to unpack several boxes of baby stuff and then move my yarn stash!), I could get back to design work. Which meant finishing a sweater in a week. Thankfully, I'd had the pattern all worked out. And my knitting friends came to my rescue with knitting and notions!

I hope you'll be seeing more of this sweater sometime later this year. We'll see!

How cute! I love the double zipper. They are the best for bump-belly!

Love that purple! And a zippered cardi is always a winner.

What a great camera angle!

I have never sewn a zipper or used a pattern that called for one as yet. Looks like you've got it downpat. I have to begin crocheting a border onto a blanket I just completed this afternoon and although I have crocheted before, I have never crocheted a border onto a knitted project before. Wish me luck. You must be so excited about the impending arrival!!

I know what a relief it was when my baby's room was more or less ready, not long before she was born. I kept imagining that she'd come early and have a construction zone of a bedroom!

As for that sweater, I love the color and can't wait to see more...

Good thing for knitting friends...with all that's on your mind I thought that I would share the big news that the last HP book (HP & the Deadly Hallows) is due out on 7/21. Getting ready to knit up an HP & Weasley storm!

Your sweater looks lovely!

I love that color, I agree with everyone else congrats on the finished sweater! Now you can relax some with your room mostly done, rest and take care of your belly!

I love the color and the zipper. Ingenious.

Clearly, you are very busy, but a quick question on a previous post. You have said the boys' Weasley sweaters are Rowan Felted Tweed, and I'm wondering about colors - Midnight and ?Pickle? Gonna do an EZ Hybrid for husband's birthday, and color choice is difficult.

I just saw the book on Amazon - how exciting! Can't wait to get it! Congrats!

The first time I saw the sweater I was entranced by the wonderful color, great zipper and lovely edge detail. I know, I know. It's just a garter stitch edge, but lovely all the same. It wasn't until I looked a second time that I realized what the "bumps" were. Duh...

Will we get to see a picture of the wee one's new space? Hopefully you'll find a satisfactory place to stash your stash. :)

Can't wait for more on the cardi. Two-way zippers are the best!
