going to owl's house

A school field trip kept me from getting online yesterday. The boys' classes went to a production of Winnie-the-Pooh at a local family theater. The boys got to see Pooh and Piglet and their favorite, Tigger, and I got to carry baby L in the baby bjorn for about four hours. Needless to say, I was a little tired when we got back. But so were all the kiddos and after they all went to sleep, I got to work on Owl.

His little body is all knitted and sewn together and he's just waiting on his stuffing. I'm really feeling like this is a great project for these newborn/infant weeks. The knitting is small, so I can do my 15 minutes or half hour of knitting and still feel like I've accomplished something. And even though there's lots of seaming, it too can be broken up into small sections for small sessions. Will I ever knit a life-sized sweater again?!

The Owl is too cute! Projects like these make me wish my children were babies again :)

So cute. In fact, I suspect since is has a small tail, it is highly appropriate for Cute Overload. Rule 18!

That Owl is so cute. I'm sure you'll knit a life-sized sweater again! You must of thought the same thing when the boys were this age...

Who needs babies to knit such cute things? :)

I still knit in small parts and my girls are 13 and 15. It makes it easier with all of the schleping I do.

That is amazing. Say, anybody starting an Errol KAL or a Mrs. Weasley's Bag of Stitch Witchery KAL? I "googled" them but didn't find anything.

Adorable! You will knit big things again, but you seem to be having a lot of fun for now!

What a cool looking owl! You'll be knitting sweaters soon enough - enjoy the newborn, hardly any time to knit period while it's still here :-)

Unstuffed he looks like an owl balloon. Love it!

Ahhh, amazing how quickly I could remember that bone aching tiredness from lack of sleep, healing body post child birth, and the pull on the back of carrying a baby. I'm glad that you are working on small projects because that feeling of accomplishments improves the outlook! Your baby is just darling.. Also thanks for making time for sockapalooza - amazing to think that you have brought together a thousand people. A great accomplishment --thanks

Your owl is really neat. Will you be making Errol, also? I keep looking at him in the side bar there.
Also liked your pink anime baby hat. It's interesting how the hat looks so different flat than on.

Jennifer, you can knit any of the Charmed Knits projects over at the Charmed Knits Knitalong! So come join us there. :)

I've got another house hat planned and then I'm definitely making an Errol. Who's making an Errol with me? See ya over at the knitalong!

Got my book from Amazon. I love it!

Owl is adorable, and appropriate for Winne the Pooh!

Cute, cute, cute! Love the owl.

The Baby Bjorn always looks like such a useful invention, but 4 hours sounds like a long stretch. A guy in my neighborhood carries his cat around in a Baby Bjorn.

Cute owl!

You must have went over to Wheelock for the performance. I took my daughter to Beauty and the Beast earlier this year. They do a great job.

Okay, every time I look at that owl, the eyes look like boobs to me! How Freudian (or something)....

Adorable owl, yesterdays hat is also equally as precious! As is the precious wee one in it! They grow so fast don't they?

ohhh soo cute!

Have just bought the book. It is wonderful and I want to knit everything in it. The phoenix scarf is first on the list, then Mrs Weasley's bag, then some socks and several jumpers, a wand cosy or three, oh and the shawl, and I've just got to have a robe and a hat, and Errol and a blanket and did I mention the phoenix scarf? It is now my favourite knitting book in a large collection!

Alison,
I just bought Charmed Knits last night.
I've been in a knitting slump and this has inspired me to pick up the sticks again. Woo-hoo!
Think I'll order the stuff from Knit Picks and make the Molly Weasly sweater. THANKS!!!!!!!

Wow. Four hours in a Baby Bjorn. That's probably not good for you or the baby. Please consider getting a better baby carrier, like a Mei Tai or a wrap. You'll be so much happier. I think I saw you had a pouch in a previous photo...

You will knit again. It will be awhile but it will happen. It was almost a year after my latest baby before I felt like I was making any real knitting progress. Now stuff is flying off the needles again.
