can you believe it?!

The boys couldn't be happier. They stayed up to watch some of the game every night of the ALCS as the Sox came back against "the Clevelands" and the World Series, sweeping "the Colorados". Poor B though was so tired last night that we couldn't wake him up to see any of the game. We seriously could not wake him. (They'd spent about two hours yesterday afternoon playing baseball on the playground.) B finally woke up at about 5am in a sleepy daze, crying - not so much because he'd missed the game, but because he felt it wasn't fair that S had seen some of the game and he hadn't. Twins! Once he was fully awake and understood that the Sox had won, he cheered up pretty quick. And both of them were all smiles on their way to school, where they met up with about 500 other grinning kids wearing Red Sox shirts and caps. A big thanks to the Red Sox for all the smiles!

No time to knit today - I'm off to buy more Red Sox gear. The boys requested one Lowell and one Big Papi shirt, so wee one and I are off to get 'em. Woo hoo!!

Yaaaayyy Sox!! I was in bed asleep, but it was welcome news on the drive into work this morning. People here in DC give me dirty looks for wearing my Sox stuff, but once a New England gal, always a New England gal!!!

Well, I'm a Yankees fan, so I don't have much to cheer about this year (sniff, sniff). My son (15) was just hypothesizing about what would happen to the Sox line up if Lowell leaves and is replaced with A-Rod. Oy.

Isn't it awesome! I'm so looking forward to going to bed at a decent hour tonight! The Boston Red Sox Rule!!!!

Glad to hear the boys enjoyed the playoffs and the big win so much. And there's one thing we can ALL agree on... Big Papi rules! ;)

Yay Mike Lowell and the MVP award; I hope he stays in Boston. It's so disconcerting when the players turn into just a commodity on the market.

It's cute to see that your boys' faces are growing up to match their big-boy teeth!

I am so happy for Boston (and my brother who is a HUGE Sox fan!)

I think your city has many more years to look forward to championships... it is a good time to be a fan in New England!

We Cubs fans can't believe our team will ever win! There is no one alive who can remember the last time the Cubs won a World Series. Congrats to all you Red Sox fans!!!!!!! (And, no, the White Sox winning did not ameliorate the Cubs fans feelings of loss at all - the Cubs - [White]Sox rivalry is worse than the Yankee - [Red]Sox.)

MIKE LOWELL!!!

Yeah, he's my favorite.

My sister was also pretty happy with the results last night. She bought a sectional from Jordan's during their if-the-Red-Sox-win-the-world-series-your-purchase-is-free promotion. What a great time to be a New England sports fan :)

My husband is a huge Red Sox fan, so he was elated that they won! The boys and hubby both have several Red Sox t-shirts (I have one, too, come to think of it), so I'm sure I'll be ordered to get some 2007 World Series Champs gear.

Glas the Sox won, but I would have preferred it had the Rockies at least made it a Series instead of a blowout. Oh well, can't have everything!

the boys have my sympathy. I'm all tuckered out, too.

but the Sox did it! I knew they would. they're a great team. I hope we get to keep them, unlike the last winning team that got traded off piecemeal almost immediately. if I ever bump into Theo, he's got a lot of explaining to do.

the Colorado team has a lot of heart. they were exciting games- especially last night coming back with hits late in the game. all in all, a very satisfying World Series.

I had to pull out my scarf- couldn't keep my knits and purls straight while watching. so I'll be finishing that up over the next couple of evenings.

little boys in baseball uniforms and caps. what is cuter?

Happy for your crew, but sad for mine. We "Clevelands" took our losses hard. 16-year-old boys will still cry with disappointment over the home team's loss! (Quietly snuffling, of course.)

Does this mean their Halloween costumes are going to change? Baseball players instead of spongebob and a ghost?

Woo-hoo indeed!!!

I was cranky but happy yesterday having stayed up way past my bedtime to watch the game.

Looooooove your son's look of complete happiness.

Yay Sox! I was up each night of the series (we left for a wedding at the start of the series), and was so excited to see them win Sunday night!

My sock savior sock is almost completely done - just finishing detail left. Do we need to mail them on a certain date or is as quickly as we can the order of the day?
