playing with blocks

Thanks to Sew Mama Sew's quilting month, I've been playing around with different quilt blocks all week!

The double irish chain block.

The shoo fly block.

The ohio star block.

The Dutchman's Puzzle block. (You know the one with the flying geese that wouldn't fly!)

And three more pinwheel stars for wee one's scrappy star quilt.

Youa are moving fast to the advanced quilters side. I still play with simple square block thing, I do not know if I dare to try a star yet :)

I envy you that you can just go to the shop and buy fantastic fabric. I have to wait for it to be shipped here. Although we have a shop carrying a lot of nice (american) fabrics (german fabrics often are oldfashioned boring ugly) they price them three times higher than in the USA and even with shipping and customs it is cheaper to order directly from the US.

Soooo waiting time, sniff, I so want to sew today.

I am really excited how wee ones quilt will work out.

Liebe Grüße

Sibylle

Marvelous quilting skills that you're developing now! I never really thought about the way all these triangles and squares could come together to form all those different patterns!

I love the pinwheel stars. You are getting alot more quilting done than I am and you have a house full of wee people.

You're making beautiful blocks.

Have you seen this great website for free blocks?

I think you have enough blocks for a quilt now. I love the old patterns with the new fabrics.

MY GOODNESS!

With Wee One and two boys, and a house and a husband to take care of - where do you find the time to do such wonderful things!

My little one is very close in age to Wee one and I know how much time she demands -

I am just amazed! Please share your secrets! Please?
