smockie

Isn't that an adorable name for a pattern? I caught a glimpse of this cute little dress in the new Sublime kids book, The second little Sublime handknit book, and couldn't resist it. (Psssst, you can download a free copy of the pattern here!)

It's a simple little smock dress, should be one of those easy no-brainer knits I can do while watching tv - now that there's something to watch on tv again! I'm all about using my stash these days (wee one's this close to figuring out how to get the yarn out of my storage cabinet), so I pulled out a couple of balls of Rowan cashsoft dk I got on super sale at Webs last year and cast on right away.

Ahhhh, stockinette, take me away!

The first Sublime booklet beckoned me - I've done two of the little hats, the girl's with a flower on the front, and the boy's with the Elmer Fudd flap on the forehead. I think it's called an Aviator Cap? Seriously cute stuff.

Love that! I can't wait to see your finished product. It is super cute.

The pinafore is really cute - how do you find time to knit that much? I'm sure it'll look great on the wee one - I loved her modelling shots.

Those sublime books are just full of adorable patterns. I have knit 2 of the patterns so far.

Oooh, what have you made Sue? I also want to make a little sweater in the new Sublime Soya book. Have you seen it?

I have that Sublime booklet and have been eyeing smockie too. It's so cute! I made the green striped, ruffled cardigan for my little one. The yarn and booklet were my best Christmas gift from my uncle who knows nothing about knitting! I was shocked.

Hi Alison, thanks for your comments on my blog. I love this pattern - I've just ordered the Sublime pattern books and organic cotton yarns for my store. I can't wait to knit with them!
