if I sew it, will it come?

the spring blocks (March thru June) of my 2007 block of the month quilt

We're doing our best to summon spring to Boston. I've sewn up the entire season of spring and the boys have hung spring pictures on the front door.

April showers and May flowers

Today's the first day that's felt even remotely spring-like, so maybe it's working!

Great pictures on your front door! Spring should be honored!

Hmmm... maybe that only works with 'build'? So maybe you should try building spring, or something spring-related, and then it will come?

Nice patchwork.

I just love it! Today is one of the few I have been able to open my windows! (63!!) I hope you enjoy your day and thank you for sharing!

Well if you guys are responsible for it, then a hearty thank you from the Fenway. Tell the boys I really appreciated being able to run outside today.

Oooh, such pretty patchwork. Love the colors. It does look like spring!

Your spring blocks look great! I hope I get to see them in real life someday!

Don't count on it! We've had a few isolated spring like days here in the Chicago area. Yesterday it was almost 60°, right now the temp is 38°. But, to be fair, spring in Chicago usually is non-existent - it seems to go from the 30°'s to the 90°'s with little in between more often than not. Only 90% of Chicago Marches, however, have at least one day where the temperature hits 70°. This year was in that 10% without one - in fact, I don't think we even had a 60° day - I think 58° was the warmest.

Boston spring weather is exactly the same as you describe, Donna. Our "spring-like" day today is 65 degrees, which is 30 degrees warmer than it's been pretty much every other day so far this year. And with our sudden (and sure to be solitary) warm day, we have clouds, drizzle and 35 mph winds! Aaaaah, Spring in Boston.

I'm hoping for spring. I mean, I have my first spring cold, so actual spring can't be too far behind.

Just had to comment on how lovely your quilt blocks are. I have so many quilt tops that are in need of finished but knitting has got me sidetracked for the moment. You say it's cold in Boston. My son's R & B Band just returned from a week there and he wore a hoodie the whole time - but then, he's from Canada and it's cold up here most of the time. He loves Boston so much that he wants to attend the music college in a couple of years - so we'll be making some trips out there from time to time to check out the area and figure out where we'd want to live if we decided to move there. HE was also in NYC on Saturday and Sunday and loved it tremendously and wants to go back there too. Yikes! Hopefully your temperatures will warm up soon. Here on the west coast of Canada, it's been lovely and sunny all day but you still need a jacket to go outside and the wind is cool.
