when we were kings

we made it!

Kings of the corn maze. We were supposed to find four stamps in the maze. We had so much trouble finding the third one that our little piece of paper ended up looking like a chinese take-out order: 3 number 1's, 2 number 2's, 1 number 3 and 3 number 4's. Leider, no fortune cookies in the corn maze.

"Kniffel!"

King Kniffel. The weather's been a little gray and cool, so we've been playing games all day long. The latest favorites are Yahtzee and Wizard, and an old game of daddy's, Super-3.

proud builders halfway done!

Lego kings. Together with their uncle, the boys built their BIG birthday present from Oma and Opa, the Lego Technic Bulldozer. Here's a video of S, cleaning up the living room with the remote control bulldozer.

And when the boys go to sleep, daddy and uncle get to play with it!

Great! a new idea for our twins too! Now I see better why you chose those colors for the afghan, too. I bet it looks wonderful.

I love the night time hours when adult men play with child toys. My father would always "test" whatever was to wait under the Christmas tree for my brothers ... all night long on Christmas Eve. It is fun to see the child in them still lives on.

Love the bulldozer! I think we're singlehandedly keeping Lego in business around here, but we don't have that one. I think I know what my eight year old is getting for Christmas. :)

What a cool toy! My oldest grandson is outgrowing Thomas the Tank Engine somewhat but is becoming fascinated by Star Wars. I asked what he would like for his BD (11/01/01 - our binary baby!) & he said Star Wars. When I asked if he'd like Lego Star Wars toys, his eyes lit up. So, if anyone knoiws of any particularly cool ones. let me know!

I love corn mazes! I need to remember to take the kids this year.

Isn't there a resident cat?

I bet that would be interesting for a feline.

I think parenthood is just another excuse to play with children's toys.

Your boys are getting so big - and handsome. It's amazing how quickly they have sprouted up.

This is a strange comment/question, but I noticed the flag the boys are standing under in the first photo. It looks just like a Katimavik flag, which is a volunteer programme for youth here in Canada. Did you notice if it said Katimavik on it?? Strange place for it to be flying if it is!
