anatomy of a poofy sleeve

first sleeve of my Rebecca #37 sweater
Wide at the base (the small ribbed cuff will be knit down from the provisional cast on), lovely rows of decreases at the forearm, and a beautiful, straight sleeve just taking shape above. Ooooh, I'm just giddy about how fun and pretty it's turned out. With all those stripes and the funny proportions though, don't you think it kinda looks like something from Dr. Seuss? It's the poofy-est, floofy-est, goofy-est, kooky-est, spooky-est, rooty-toot-toot-iest sleeve in the world!

I think you're ready for Halloween!!
Can you give us the details on those neat decreases? I think that you're going to love the finished sweater; it's pretty cool!
Tammy, they're just paired k2tog,ssk's spaced out evenly around, repeated every 6 rows (that's the width of one color stripe). After the decreases are done, the stitch count has almost been halved!
Hey, Catherine, I think you're on to something! Maybe I can wear this silly sweater on Halloween. And apropos Halloween, I'm just getting started on the kids' costumes. More to come on those this weekend!
Dr. Seuss would be proud.
Spoken like a woman with children.
Is Wee One going to wear the viking hat again?
Cat in the Hat--definitely!
