peace out
On Tuesday, I gave you a glimpse of some fabulous fabric from Alexander Henry (man, I love everything from that company! wee one's turtle top was also made from their fabric). The fabric made me think of the election, it made me think of America, and it made me think of my mother. So I made her a bag with it.

surprise mom! it's coming your way very soon...
The pattern is called The Un-Paper Bag (cool name!) and is a free tutorial from The Purl Bee. I hope all of you, knitters and sewists, follow the Purl Bee. They have amazing knitting and sewing projects every month. Beautiful stuff and never too difficult to make. Check it outl
And speaking of my mom and Purl in NYC, we're off to visit! Have a good weekend. Peace out.

What a beautiful bag!
Any USC grad out there will recognize the "Fight On!" (our traditional hand gesture) I wonder if that fabric comes in other color schemes, like cardinal and gold ...
That looks like a great bag. I'll have to check out the tutorial!
Love that bag! Great job!
Oh really? You probably aren't checking email, or have other plans, but if you're up for some low-key BK action on Saturday, send me an email.
Your bag is wonderful! I checked out Purl Bee -- what a wonderful place -- thank you for the link.
I've lurked on your blog for a very long time, and enjoy it big bunches. I've got 14 year old twin boys, and have loved watching your boys grow up a few years behind mine. (I'm also originally from Massachusetts, although I now live in Virginia.)
You've a lovely family and a very entertaining blog.
Thanks for the hint about Purl Bee - I've seen their regular site, but never the project-based bee. How cool! I love their style (and yours, of course ;) Purl is definitely on my list for my next NYC trip.
Thanks again for all the inspiration - like you, I sew and knit, so your blog is perfect for me!
