decked hall

The advent calendar that I sewed up a couple of weeks ago is up and ready to go! The boys have divided up the days (B gets to pull out presents on the odd-numbered days, S gets the evens) and they can't wait to get their first little giftie in the morning. They could barely get to sleep!

I love it! Actually i think it looks so awesome that it belongs at my house....which looks like Christmas threw up! LOL. Good job!

We had something very similar to that when I was growing up. I mean really similar-- not just an advent calendar but one that my mom made out of fabric with the same type of print and everything. Fond memories :)

Very cute - aren't you afraid that Wee One will feel left out? Hasn't she started wanting to do whatever her big brothers are doing? We took my 2 grandsons for a couple of days last week (we had Thanksgiving at their house but I made everything but the turkey & they love to help - especially with the cranberry sauce). When we were about ready to leave their house, I said B & E are going to spend a couple of day's at our house & Baby M said, "And me too?" {patting her chest for emphasis.) I felt so bad leaving her but we cannot fit 3 car seats in our Camry (altho the salesman lied & said the back seat would hold 3 - it does NOT).

Donna, wee one would never allow us to leave her out. ;0) I'm putting three little prezzies in each pocket. The boys have only divided up who's in charge of taking the presents out of the pocket each day. Wee one's too small and doesn't know her numbers, so she can't be a taker-outer yet. Each of them also has one of those little chocolate advent calendars. So, no worries, everyone gets a present and a chocolate every day!

And I hear you about those back seats! We had a helluva time finding a car when wee one was on the way. We did not want a mini-van, so we schlepped a baby seat and two boosters to every car dealer we visited and tried out the back seats. They just do not make sedan-style cars to fit three kids. Even the station wagons weren't big enough in the back seat! We found the Accord to have the most usable back seat room (also the seat belts are practically placed and the seat isn't totally molded to be just for two passengers with that stupid hump in the middle). Poor baby M. She'll get her turn someday - without the brothers too, I bet!

And we almost bought an Accord - but we've always had Toyotas & had good luck with them so went with it. We did actually go to Buy Buy Baby (they are new to this area - I think they started in NY & NJ - loved them - best customer service EVER) & they let us bring the booster seats out to the car to see what would fit & nothing fit well. Since they are moving to Ca in 3 weeks (boohoo), we will wait until their next visit (hopefully in the summer) to get something. We will definitely be going back to Buy Buy Baby - we really appreciated their helpfulness.

Ah - the joys of being a twin. I fondly remember the splitting of our advent calendar when my sister and I were S & B's age. The biggest fight was who got to but the last advent ornament on the tree!!
Yours is beautiful. Happy Holidays!

My sister (2 years younger) and I divided everything up by date. My birthday is the 16th and her's is the 13th, so she got odds and I got evens.
