pinned

Yes, the neutral quilt and I are going steady now! The top is all pinned together with batting and backing and I've begun the quilting - just simple in-the-ditch stitching around the blocks and following the seam lines inside the blocks.

The neutral quilt and I will be spending every night together for the rest of the week. I'm determined to finish it up as quickly as I can, dedicating myself to it this week. But we all know I'm not a very monogamous crafter, so don't be surprised if cheat a bit with hubby's socks or wee's lucinda guy hat. And I can't help but flirt with doing the sew-along project for Sew Mama Sew's Fat Quarter Month.... I'm incorrigible!

I love the colors. It is going to be so pretty. How many hours of work do you have left?

I love the simplicity of this quilt. Are you hand quilting or by machine? I have only ever machine-quilted and I am thinking of taking a hand-quilting class. ~ksp

This quilt is beautiful! I LOVE the backing fabric!

Kelli, I'm machine quilting. I've never done any hand-quilting either. It's beautiful, but I fear I'd never finish anything if I had to hand-quilt the quilts too! Maybe I'll try it on a doll quilt or something small like that sometime. If you take a class, be sure to share how you liked it!

You'll get it done even if you treat yourself with one of your other projects! It will look amazing when you are finished.

I love the backing fabric! Neutrals would not have been my choice, but the way you put them together, it is turning into a beautiful work of art!

Hmmm, Jane, how many hours? Lets's see, maybe six or seven more hours of quilting and about the same amount of time sewing on the binding. This is all still pretty new to me so I'm still pretty slow with it all.

I guess it is a little late to point out that it is waaaaaaaaaay easier to do the spray on basting. Your back will thank you for trying this method. It really works like a dream and holds for several months, but washes right out. No, I don't care to tell you how I know it holds for several months, it has nothing to do with procrastinating.

Ha, ha, Robby! I do have some spray adhesive and used it on hubby's t-shirt quilt, but I still used some pins. Does it really just work on its own without pins?! Wow!

It's looking quite nice!

It looks lovely! I'd love to have a hand made quilt. My mom has all our heirloom quilts in our family.
