the seven hour itch
I've spent another couple of nights with my alchemy scarf (info here) and new things are happening. I was worried it might repeat itself, but this second section looks quite different from the first.

It's gotten so boring though that I spent the previous night's knitting time dreaming of starting a new project. So I dashed out with wee one yesterday to pick out some yarn for the baby shrug I want to make from Vintage Baby Knits for Robin (the winner of my vintage baby knits contest!)

I wonder how many nights I'll be able to keep myself from starting this one.

The scarf's coming on beautifully. Love the Koigu KPM--perfect for the project!
Not many I'm guessing. I almost bought that book tonight but my Borders coupon did not cover it & since Baby M is going to be 3 in November (although she is very wee) & she's almost certain to be my last grand, I just can't bring myself to pay full price for it. In fact, I had said no more baby books but, since this one has so many cute patterns & was written by the wife of a HS friend of my other daughter, I thought I'd make an exception. Then too, if that shrug can be knit in Koigu, I can probably make the largest sie in DK to upsize it to fit M (if the largest size won't fit.)
Oooh, lovely purple koigu! Enjoy knitting with that!
I took one look at this scarf and dropped by Purl on the way home from work Thursday and picked up two skeins of the Alchemy. I absolutely can't wait to begin it. Thanks for posting about it - I never would have thought of it otherwise.
Alison, I love the Koigu, it's beautiful! I knew you would pick out something great! The scarf looks so nice and smooshy. I think your Mom and I are both very fortunate people right now.
I like to think how happy I'll be to have it finished and jump into some intense movie viewing. I really love it. Perhaps a great road trip, or having tea with your mom could get you through it.
The scarf is really pretty, but 1x1 rib just drives me to distraction. I'm not sure I'd ever manage to get an entire scarf done that way.
