even the snowmen are unprepared Thirty-three degrees outside. Snowflakes falling in the 'burbs. Kids in winter coats on their way to school. Winter's come early. Someone needs a scarf!

Yes, big clumpy wet snowflakes were falling here in the northern 'burbs of Boston--though they seem to have stopped for the moment. We seem to have gone from 60 degree days to 40's - no 50's this year! They are promising a brief warming trend - into the 60's by Monday. But only for a few days then back to the cold & gray. That's what bothers me the most. October is usually such a beautiful month - 60 degree days with bright sunshine. It's just been gloom & cold here.
