wtf?!

What's wrong with this picture?

Well, there's the fact that this sweater was finished in March and it's now back on the needles. Or the fact that the designers of this Rebecca pattern stopped designing when they got to the neck, leaving me to do their work for them. Either way, I'm annoyed. It's started getting cold here and I wanna wear my orange stripey sweater! So far I've tried five times to put a new neck in here and have been foiled by dumb mistakes (forgotten bind offs, wrong needle, etc.). But this time I may have finally gotten lucky. Or smart. Whichever it is, it doesn't matter. All I care about is that I may be on my way to an honest-to-goodness gen-u-ine finished sweater.

Woot!

Woot, indeed! I like a nice, simple, rolled edge on the neckline. Think that might work here, or is it too plain for you? Can't wait to see what you decide.

This is the greatest sweater and you'll look great in it. It's nice to see you using your energy and talent for yourself a little.

How maddening!

I second the rolled neck idea.

Gosh, it sounds like you are having the same problem I'm having with one of my sweaters on the needles (though I don't have the luxury of blaming a designer on this one...). Hopefully it will all work out soon, so you can wear it before the cold hits badly enough that you need two sweaters to leave the house!

I'm glad to see this one making an appearance again. I've been curious about it and can't wait to see the final, modeled shot. Good luck with that neckline.

I picturing you with an orange boatneck on this one. Great sweater!

good luck - can't wait to see the real finished product!

I like a nice rolled neck also. What have you decided?

Posted by: Donna at October 14, 2009 3:20 PM

Yep, I'd do the easy thing and mirror the bottom ribbing with a boatneck.

well, orange stripes for sure can make anyone smile!

it's DARLING!

my absolute FAV colors!

That's the great thing about you - you have the ability to change it - me, i'd be lost!

A boatneck suits the orange stripes (very naval), but if you're looking for 'warm' I could also see a ribbed mock turtle or funnel neck in the orange color. I'm looking forward to what you decide - it will be great, I am sure of that.

I like the boatneck idea. it'll look really cool with the orange stripe. but what ever you choose, i'm sure it'll be beautiful.
