Wee wanted to watch me take knitting photos the other day and was thrilled with the progress I've made on her Mandarin Petit sweater. I've worked a bit more than one repeat of the color stripe pattern in the yoke and am just about ready to make a placket opening (for the back) and start working back and forth. Not much farther now. Luckily, winter lasts forever in Boston. And the spring is cold.

I've never had the blessing to knit for someone who anticipates it with such joy. Lucky wee one. Lucky you.
We lived in Bedford, MA when I was a child and I remember my mom complaining about snow still on the ground in May!
Our family is from WA state. My dad was stationed at Hanscom AFB in the early 1960s.
Actually, it was when we lived in Bedford that I learned to knit. My grandma took the train out from Seattle to visit and she bought me my first needles and yarn on that trip and taught me basic garter.
Cool, Sandee.
We were just looking at some pics of me when I was pregnant with the boys and there I was working on my very first knitting projects!
Like I said, that sweater is just made for Wee!
Makes weaving in all of those fiddly ends not such a big deal, doesn't it? :)
Now, you are not the only one who can't wait for this to be done
She's getting so big - and beginning to look so much like the boys. Time passes so quickly.
She has the same smile like her older brothers :) Isn't it nice when you can still excite them with things like self made sweaters.
¡que preciosidad!
un abrazo,

In Maine, we never put our sweaters away!
wee one will look awesome in this sweater! This smile!
By the way: do you tell us her "proper" name?
Hee - there's nothing like enthusiastic recipients!
If I got a sweater as cool as that one, I'd be excited too. Of course, I wouldn't look one bit as cute as wee--her photos lately have been pushing the cute-o-meter into the stratosphere.
its going to be gorgeous. i love it.
