so, what else is new?
Okay, so the brushed alpaca wasn't my only yarny treat to myself in the last weeks. I made a few additions to my stash while I was away. First, I got this fabulous swift from fellow Massachusetts knitter, Julia! Up until now, I've just used my husband to hold the yarn, or in more desperate times, my shoe (remember?).

Well, now I'm swifting up my Peace Fleece like a pro. How sweet it is. A big thanks to Julia (from my husband too!).
Next, since I love that blue bumpy yarn for the too small sweater so much that I'm almost sad to see this sweater reach the finishing point, I jumped when I saw some more Giboulees on sale on eBay.

And since I'm a just a sucker for Phildar on eBay, I picked up some Pegase for this baby sweater - the third in line at the baby (sweater) factory here.
There's still a wee bit more yarn on its way to me. Ahem. I guess the idea of getting more bandwith got to my head. I'll let you know if I come up with a way to store yarn in my unused server space.

She's back! She's back! [Does feverish dance in the manner of the Peanuts characters.]
I have one thing to say:
Buy. More. Yarn.
Love,
The Evil Yarn Enabler
Like the new home Alison, very posh! And you bought more Giboulees? Well done, that yarn is just gorgeous. I cant wait to see the modelled version of the original giboulees...
Can I just say that I love that pegase jacket as well? Are you going to do the elephant panel? too cute...
Well congrats on your woolwinder. My kids love doing it for me. They go ultra fast, and sometimes it flies off the bobbin! I find it a very relaxing thing to do when I'm kind of tired. I bought every single color Rowan dk has to offer, one hank each....endlessly winding wool, grankageva
ps would it be rude to invite you to my new knitblog? I'd love to share...
hey this is way late but i LOVE your banff. and i am feeling a little....not wanting to do it in uneven manos but wanting to do it in some thick tweedy ribbie cardie type yarn. :( i mean i love manos. but i'm not sure i love it for that sweater. a big thick lovely smooshy thing, i don't want the little holes from thick & thin i don't think.
The pegase jacket is adorable. Thanks for all of your baby project pictures. I'd never have considered a baby kimono sweater before I saw what wonderful your's turned out.
Good to see you back, Alison. I love the baby knits you are making. I, too, have a baby project going for an office mate due in 5 weeks. I like the quick fix a baby sweater gives!
Fab new home !
Fab new yarn, and really fab to have a swift ! Now you need a ball winder for neat,centre-pull 'cakes' ! ;-]
Glad you're back.
hi alison,
i'm also in the boston area ... one question -- where do you get the phildar catalogs around here?
thanks, maryse
I have been on a buying spree. Must be a February thing.
Welcome back! I love the idea of storing yarn in your extra server space. :) OK, now I'm off to poke around your new place... don't mind me...
Yes, it seems that we're all gathering wool at the moment. Glad to see I'm not alone! :)
Hey Carolyn, let me know when you start your Banff. I want to add you to the list!
Marsye, check out my Phildar info page for resources for finding Phildar patterns and yarn. Good luck!
Hiya, other Alison! While you're poking around here, I'll go over and poke around your site a bit. How 'bout that?! Why have I not been reading your site????
