As soon as I get home from work I'll be casting on. Who cares that I've only got 15 rows to do on the jacket sleeve I've got to catch Kerrie up, she's already done the first set of decreases!!

Hee hee, I didn't know this was a race! I even got a chance to sit in the park and do another few rows on this at lunchtime - I'm LOVING it so far. Looking forward to seeing everyone else's progress as well!

I'll be with you all in spirit.

I've filled up my tank and put the fingers to the metal! Woohoo! This ASC sure is fast ~

Posted by: Kerstin at May 15, 2003 9:08 AM

Okay, I must admit that I started last night after posting. This tank is filled and revving to go!

Posted by: Lynette at May 15, 2003 9:11 AM

started late last nite too. i'm midway thru the decreases (slept late this morning), but i'll be back at it later this afternoon.

Hey tank girls! Just back from the doctor's waiting room where I was able to knit a bit. Hooray! Progress pic tomorrow. How are the rest of you doing?

Posted by: alison at May 15, 2003 1:54 PM

you go girls!

I just finished my third set of increases. But wait! What is this? Some weird a** stuff going on the right side. Can't figure it out. Have to put on the brake and rip back 10 rows. (Speedway Announcer cuts in: "Whoa, she took a couple turns way too fast and just came out of a rollover, wow, that is TOO bad.")

Of course, the sloppy driving occurred at about the same time my mother-in-law arrived for a visit. So that explains everything. Once again, it wasn't my fault. Phew. At least I didn't run her over. ;)

P.S. Does this mean I lost my Krispy Kreme sponsorship?

Posted by: Kerstin at May 15, 2003 7:00 PM

I'm started and have begun the decreases. I am knitting it in the round though which means both the back and front at the same time. No seaming for me!

Anyways ... Kerstin ... From the head of Krispy Kreme ... All sponsorships are valid until one can not stand the sight of another donut! So I think the sponsorship still stands *hehe*

I've got pictures up.

Oops...if this is a race, I ain't gonna be the rabbit, but the turtle. I just can't let go of my other projects because I am the Mad Multi-Project Knitting Lady, so Pagan will start off during the weekend.

P.S. Even though I'll be movin' slowly, you bet your bippy I'll still knit it flat and seam it. Anyone ever notice how cotton slants slightly when knit in the round, even when blocked and worn?

:-( I want to, but I can't... Darn, I have the magazine and have been drooling over it for two weeks, but no monies for the yarn. Maybe I'll trail behind in a couple of weeks, when the ship of loot comes in. Have fun with yours!

Press Conference: The Knitting Police have just confirmed that Kerstin of Knit's End has officially been disqualified from this race. We repeat: she has been disqualified from this race. Preliminary lab results have confirmed that the fuel in her tank contains banned substances. These banned substances have been known to cause hallucinations including imaginary visits from one's mother-in-law. The suspect will remain in custody and will continue the project with spoons instead of knitting needles. It's for her own good. Carry on.

Hey Becky, I hadn't really noticed any slanting. I'll have to examine the two tanks I've done in the round and decide if it bothers me. I have noticed that ribbing does that slanting thing big time - way annoying! I'll probably go back and forth between flat and circular knitting this summer. Once I'm off the stripe kick there's one less reason to do things in the round. And I do like the look of a well done seam!
