warming up
The finishing fiesta is about to begin! I've got four projects in or on on their way into the finishing basket (holiday island, ribby cardie, giranimals II, and the ladybug sweater). So this weekend I sat down, cracked my knuckles a few times and did a little warm up: I finished a sweater for a fellow Knitsmith, who's not a fan of seaming. She'll be finishing the neck, but I did the seams for her.

Isn't the color pretty? I don't know the yarn, but the color name is french clay. Now how's that for a name?!

baby things
Since a lot of the knitalongs have been coming to a close for the summer, how about a finish-a-thon to wrap up all those summer tops and wips? I finally put another summer top in the finishing pile (still too small though). Have a couple more to go.... Though, I've kinda cheated and started knitting a pair of wool socks and finished a wool hat between finishing jobs.
I Googled 'french clay yarn' and came up with Brown Sheep Nature Spun as a possibility.
Shirley, Sandy (see the frenzy link) has already got the frenzy going. But you're right, it doesn't have to be limited to preparing for fall. The fall frenzy could also be about finishing those summer knits before fall really arrives. Good idea!
You are so smart, Michelle. I bet that's what it is, then. Thanks!
I totally identify with the Finishing Frenzy. That's how I tend to work... I start a bunch of things and then I finish a bunch of things. I'm finishing some things up too (although I cheated and started ONE new thing because the projects to finish are either at sewing up stage or BORING.)
Yes, it's good to have finish friends! haha! Seam on, sister! Seam on! I'll be checking your progress! When are you leaving on your trip by the way??
S.
Rebecca, I'm not aware of any rules in the finishing frenzy that forbid starting new projects! And if there are any such rules, I don't want to know. ;0)
Sandy, I've got until the middle of October to clear out the finishing basket. It's like an "out" box at work. No vacation until it's been emptied!
