The holiday island sweater is finally finished. Whew, there were a lot of ends to weave in on this sweater! But luckily my redesigned sleeve caps fit in the armholes just right. I guess I'm still learning something with every project. I really like the frills and the neckline, but my favorite thing has to be the 3/4 length sleeves. Now I just want to knit 3/4 sleeves all the time! I loved the Spotlight yarn from Classic Elite: 100% cotton, but oh so soft. And despite the error in the pattern (the company confirmed the error), I still really enjoyed knitting this sweater. And wearing it? Well, it's absolutely perfect for the early fall weather we're having today. And it makes me feel purty. Aw shucks, I'm pretty proud of it.

Finally? Hah! It seems from here like this project went really fast. It looks beautiful! I love the color on you and the frills.
Alison...you look FAB in Holiday Island! Beautiful! I've been knitting almost 20 years and there is always something to learn with every project.
Thanks for your comment to my recent post and the invite to join you in a Knit Along...to be honest I was looking at your poncho knit along today...I bought The Purl Stitch this past weekend and LOVE the poncho in there. How long do you look for the poncho knit along to go?
Wonderful! The sleeves are way cool and the frills at the end just make the whole thing a sweater I NOW WANT TO MAKE!! (oh, will my list ever stop growing?) Alison, you know how to pick them.
fab*blue*lessness!...love that sweater.
(sigh)
I have been bitten by the Poncho bug
so add me to the list, pretty please...
it's a Big Blue Meany....
all together now!
Love the new sweater, very pretty and feminine!
Another fantastic job. The neckline looks lovely on you. Ruffles are great.
This has got to the be the ultimate mid-season sweater. Wonderful work, as always. I agree that those ruffles are great and very feminine, and I admire you for coming up with that sleeve cap. I haven't ventured into that yet. The only things I've come up with myself have been simple raglans because I find it easier to calculate sleeve caps in straight angles.
Goooooooo, Alison! :-)
Boy am I jealous! You look fabulous, fits just so. Very few of my sweaters fit that bill and just in time for the season! There's always something that bugs me about every sweater I knit....
I love it. I've been staring at that one and the skirt all summer. I think I will do it for next summer now that I see it looks fab on you! Great work.
Blue is your color Alison!
Whoa, that looks great. Looks a nice and relaxed jeans sweater. Love the frills and the ties.
You should be proud. It looks marvelous and you look smashing in it!
Veddy nice. Veddy, veddy nice! :-)
You should feel proud. You look fabulous in your beautifully knitted sweater.
I rather like the ruffles too.
That sweater looks great on you. Nice work!
Looks awesome on you, great work on adding the sleeves, and I love the ruffles on the bottom of them, and the 3/4 length. Jo Jo Jo indeed. I am having the same thingy with the decs that you talked about a few weeks ago. Ah, to live in a world with perfect patterns! :)
frills and ruffles = just what a girl needs sometimes!!! :) congrats on your ZILLIONETH finished project so far this year!!!
I must add my compliments to the knitter. Good going! I bought the pattern book this summer so I was surprised to see the sweater being knit. Now I'll have a first hand error sheet to slip in my book. Thanks (I may have to knit this one tooooo)
Wow - that looks gorgeous. I don't even remember you starting it so it can't have taken you that long. I love the ruffles and the 3/4 sleeves. Very autumnal and feminine.
You are purty, girl -- and so's that sweater! I think you rival Wendy for speed, too. I bet I'll have one half of the poncho done tonight -- did you gather that it's not blue, after all? I may actually trim it with some red from the stash rather than sticking with Noro neutrals. it's for a kid, after all!
That is an awesome sweater. Really nice work!
What more can be said? Very pretty.
And you should be proud! It is purty!
I agree -- your sweater looks faba-daba-do. Very nicely done.
I'm going to poncho-along, hoping the poncho gang will keep me focussed long enough to complete it. : )
I am a lover of 3/4 length sleeves! That's really a great sweater. I saw the poncho knit-along, and just might have to do that with you.
Alison, didn't you just start that two weeks ago? Or am I living in some kind of weird time warp? You are amazing . . . :)
I bow down to your frenzying magic! You have left me in the fiesta dust!
It looks wonderful and what a feeling to have another FO!
Go Alison, Go alison! My money's on you! :)
Oooh, is there wagering?! How do I get in on the action, Sandy?
Thanks everyone for stopping by and saying nice things about my sweater. Either you all are the sweetest bunch of knitbuds a girl could have or you've all got money riding on me like Sandy does. (Hee, hee)
And I'm totally psyched about more poncho pals. Everyone's welcome!
Your sweater looks great and I like the neck-line. It's beautiful!
