So I go to Germany and visit the giant boardgaming fair and what is my favorite souvenir: this sheep shirt. The sheep is from a little card game called Attribute. We didn't buy the game, but I had to have the shirt!
And on my first visit to the knitting group after returning from vacation, fellow Knitsmith Kimberly gave me this cute sheep mug. A blue sheep for my blue knitblog. How cool!
Not that I'm collecting sheepy stuff or anything. Since we're on the subject, how much sheepy stuff is okay and when does too much sheepy become a little creepy?

chic sheep shirt
The thing with collecting is that you usually only realize it's too much when it's already gone too far. When you think you've reached that point, invite someone over who's never been to your house before. If the first thing they mention is the sheep, you've gone too far.
Getting a sheep tattoo probably borders on sheepy creepy. ;-)
Beware, once you have more than one of an item you will find yourself picking up more "cutesy" stuff as time goes on. Mine are beehives and roosters. Be afraid, be very afraid!
I agree with Wendy (teehee, that's a good one. I'll be giggling all day). I know a certain "Get A Clue Fairy" who has a sheepy t-shirt which she almost lost at Rhinebeck. Good thing she found it because we would've had to start calling her "Bo Peep."
You know you've stepped over the line when . . . you buy toilet paper imprinted with sheep. ;)
Alright, good tips! I'll leave the sheep tatoos to Wendy and will try to restrain myself when it comes to sheepy t.p. :0)
When you start your own "sheep language" you know you've gone too far!
Great shirt.
How about too creepy when you get plastic surgery to look more sheeplike...
I think a sheep tattoo would be cute, but hey, I think my other tattoos would make fun of it...
I think what you've shown is enough. Love the shirt though.
It's a fine line between novelties and "a collection"--you want people to get you wool not sheep images!
Oooh, good point about the wool, Steph!
I guess you'll be the one to know when the collecting gets baaaaa'd.
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Peace
When you keep getting gifts of it that continue for years. I used to collect Monkeys, then Giraffes, and also Sheep. I finally just cleared out most of the Monkeys and Giraffes, only keeping ones that I really liked. I have an Aunt that would send me tag sale items for Xmas. I do not need used plastic giraffe children's toys. Can't wait to see what this years is.
Your two sheep items are very cute. I did buy a sheep keychain at Rhinebeck, couldn't resist.
P.S. I bought a sheep keychain at Rhinebeck, too. But I gave it to Sandy. So that doesn't count.
Um, Alison. You are a PRETENDER when it comes to to sheepy stuff. I have paid hotels TWICE to return my favorite sheepy t-shirt after I've left it behind. Each sheep n' wool festival yields another sheepy mug. To top it off, I've got two tiny sheep on my front lawn.
I say you need more.
Oh my, Claudia, lawn sheep?! You are in a whole different league of sheepiness.
Hey Alison,
LOVE the sheep tee!!! AWESOME!
I'm on holidays right now but had a little time to surf the net on hubby's laptop and was just reading blogs .... and was wondering what pattern the poncho-along picture was? I'd like to join up and want to do that one :) Thanks!!! (I've put my hubby's email in)
Ok, so I had no idea Wendy actually had a sheepy tattoo. It certainly is the cutest tat I've ever seen. I can vouch for the fact that Claudia does indeed have sheep near the side of her house. She has the best mowed lawn in town. ;)
