shrug

My NYC shrug at Knitsmiths yesterday. I'm working hard on making my mother's day deadline. Three of nine balls knit = a third of the way there. That means six more balls worth of black stockinette stitch. Sigh.

In slightly more exciting news, I solved the Burda maze and was able to trace and cut out my pattern pieces for my simple, slouchy top.

Just wait till you see the fabric! The boys will love it: biiiiiiiig, yebie flowsies.

You'll make the deadline. Knit, Alison, knit!

I can't wait to see your fabric. I feel like getting a sewing machine JUST so I can have fun cutting out patterns using those sewing shears and so I can put up a "I Can Sew, Too" button. How about a button that reads, "I Can Sew Vicariously Through Alison's Blue Blog"?

P.S. That Burda pattern looks like a road map!

I think you should give yourself a little treat after each ball to reward yourself for knitting in stockinette stitch. Maybe some chocolate, glass of wine would be good? I'm sure you'll make the deadline, oh and have fun with that little top. If only I still had a waist!

This piece of advice would have been more useful yesterday, and maybe you already know it, but anyway...if you highlight along the lines of your pieces and size on the Burda pattern sheets, they're easier to trace. I've found it helps a lot. Also, would you be willing to share the issue and pattern number of your pattern? I have stacks of those mags.

Thanks for the advice, Cheryl. I'll definitely do that next time. Carrie's tip from the last post about using the little roller that punches through the paper was also a good one. As for pattern info, I've just been too lazy to look it up and remember it. I'll post it tomorrow! :)
