are you going to wear that?

So first Jane gave the Paris Loop capelet a try, decided it wasn't for her and offered the yarn up for sale on her blog. Now I have it and am giving it a go.

This Gedifra Cicco yarn is soooooo freaky. It's just little tufts of wool every couple of inches and a nylon thread inbetween. When you knit it up, the little wool tufts make loops. Way weird. I'm trying to withhold judgment though until it's all finished. I don't dislike it. But I'm not sure I can get away with wearing it.

Wanna see what my boys are getting away with wearing around the house? Hip boy board shorts and mommy's mary janes. Look, S's even got his on the wrong feet!

Thanks for the close-up. I had no idea from the photo in the pattern that the yarn was tufted. I just thought it was an ordinary smooth yarn.
The photos of the boys is just so cute. Those shorts are great and the teddy bear t-shirt is just too cute.

Cute! Noel approves of their shoe choices by the way!

What a cute photo, I'm glad to see that its more than just girls who enjoy dressing up in grown ups shoes - they look so cute! The tufty yarn looks interesting as well, good luck with that! Its the hottest day of the year so far in London, I cant imagine knitting with wool!

Just wanted to say that I enjoy reading your blog every day and yours is one of a few which inspired me to start my own recently. You'll have to visit it when you have a chance!

Awww, your kids are sooo cute. :-)
That yarn is weird looking! But fun, too.

I knit a version of this capelet with a similar yarn for my mom. To tone it down some, I got a few other shades of more conservative yarn and did it in big wide stripes. I love that color, and the yarn looks very fun.
Cool shoes, if I was a little kid, i would want to put them on too!

Two things:

1) I have those Land's End Mary Janes in (what else?) black!

2) Hoorah for new shoes! Ever since you posted that you only had two pairs of shoes a while back, I've been concerned about your shoe-sanity. I'm relieved that you're expanding your shoe collection -- and in cool colors, no less!

I just made the Paris Loop, but cast on way too many stitchs and it was huge! I had to frog the whole thing. Oh well. It only took a few hours to knit!

I love that shot! I think that your boys should come over so they can browse through my shoe closet with the Captain. The other day he was clunking around the house with my Dr. Scholl's.

Oh, what a pair of cuties! Gotta love those shoes, too. Good luck with the yarn. I thought it was nice and fluffy, but yes, definately weird to knit with. Funny how the photo doesn't show just how loopy it is. Good luck - hope when it's finished it doesn't make you look like a fuzzy, floofy animal!
