clapo-three

Three balls of fabulous Malabrigo in and I'm on the decrease rows finally. Just 10 columns of stitches still to drop!

I call this picture "Boy with Banana Admiring Clapotis" or "Don't Touch it - Don't Touch it". Here's a close-up without the banana making us all nervous.

After I concluded yesteday that the Harry Potter scarf has sold me on long scarves, I looked into my knitting basket and found Clapotis. Hey, it's a long scarf too! And it's for me. Hooray! I know I won't be able to wear this for a while, but I can't wait to finish it now.

Just beautiful! Now I just have to find somewhere to buy that yarn...it looks heavenly!

That is beautiful. Makes me want a Clapotis in the same yarn.

Well, at least it wasn't "Boy with Grape Juice Admiring Clapotis".

It's lovely and I'm clapping for your Clapotis.

LOVE it! I really need to make Clapotis, I just can't decide on a yarn.

Hooray for long scarves! It looks great and it'll be all ready when the weather calls for it :)

oh, now SEE? This just proves my theory that no matter WHAT yarn you choose for Clapotis, I'll want to knit another one out of THAT, too....delish!

The color variation in the Malabrigo is perfect for that scarf. The little white areas give it sparks.

Love it! I really am suddenly tempted to make a clap!

Great colors for you. Can't wait to see you modeling it. I loved making one and I might have to have another color come fall:)

Is it a lighting issue, or does it look like that last skein of Malbrigaligula (I can never spell it out ;) ) look lighter? I had the same issue with 3 balls from the same batch so I figured I'd ask. It's still close to being my desert island yarn though. A chilly desert island, but a desert island, nonetheless. yum.

That is so beautiful! I can't wait to see it finished.. The colors are so perfect :)

At least the banana would match the color scheme ;-)

Gorgeous clap! I'm waiting for the yarn for mine, just a matter of time before I hop on the clapper bandwagon! I really love your yellow though. I haven't seen too many of that color out here in blogland.

Looks lovely!

Beautiful! and, what a coincidence...I am scheduled to pick up my SWTC SoySilk (in "chocolate") specifically for the Calpotis. I tried to resist making one...but Resistence Is Futile.

;-)

Looks so yummy and sunny...looks like you will be warmed by sunshine. Hurrah for long scarves...my son is so looking forward to his HP and the clap that is on needles is for me. At least you get to keep one for your very own!

Are the thick striping bands the different balls of yarn? I love the color variations! A beautiful fall accessory!

I'm definitely coming down with a case of the clap. Had a giggle at Heather's comment about the 'boy with grape juice'. I'd like to add one -- or a tipsy husband with a glass of red wine.

I'm not aware of Malabrigo having any "batches" or "dye lots". Every skein is really very different from every other. I picked out the four skeins that seemed the most similar and you can see how that worked out! I was so not up for doing the alternate rows thing - remember, I have MAJOR issues with variegated yarn - that I decided that since every skein was unbelievably beautiful, I would just knit them as they are. The darkest and the lightest ended up next to each other at one end and the two with lots of white flecks are on the other end. Neat, huh?

Orli, I'm just following the pattern. Clapotis is sort of a shawl/scarf. Check out the pattern page at Knitty for some pics. I really like the length!

Paula, mmmm... chocolate.....

Hey, I used to be Alison A.!

I've never understood how some moms can get away with wearing white pants . . .
