pop back on top

Pop is back! And I've finally settled on a neckline for her.

pop, almost done? way!

Yup, it's true. I've decided she's going to get a hood, a la the Under the Hoodie pattern from the first Stitch and Bitch book. I'll need at least one more ball of the pink yarn (from France!) to make the hood, so she won't be done for a bit, but as soon as I get that yarn....

can you picture it?

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

Hi, nice blog. It's a very pretty hoodie, nicely done, it's cute.

Posted by: Carin at September 8, 2005 9:30 AM

So cute! I think it'll look great with a hood (and I'm so glad you didn't abandon Pop forever -- I love love lovvvvve the colors!)

Oh, I think you're SO right - a hood is exactly what she needs! Adorable! :-)

Don't you just love when you figure something out like that? Sometimes I don't know what's more exciting: the finished product, or making it all come together and working on it.

Best Wishes!

Did you already order the yarn? I actually have all of those colors and I'd be happy to send you the pink. Let me know.

Cool!

LOVE the colors!

Posted by: saras at September 8, 2005 1:11 PM

I never would have combined these colours myself, but your top shows that they are just great together!

So funny to see a peek-a-boo top turn into a hoodie! Your persistence in creating the perfect garment for you is inspiring.

I know you're the blue blog, but I love it when you knit orange! It looks good against the blue background. :-)

wahou ! I really like this collar/neckline, good idea.

Posted by: karen at September 8, 2005 3:55 PM

oh, good call. :-) I always like a hood, and I think this will be a great sweater for it.

Hurrah for Pop! I'm very excited to have gotten to see it in so many incarnations :)

Posted by: Farrah at September 8, 2005 5:30 PM

I love it!!! The colors are great!!! I may have to look into making it myself!

Posted by: Jeanette at September 8, 2005 6:22 PM

I would never in a million years have guessed that is what you would do and I LOVE it. A hood will be perfect on pop!

pop looks so cool! i guess i'll have to buy SnB after all, if it's got that kind of a pattern in it.

are you going to run sockpal3za? this one was so much fun! i wanna do it again!

Posted by: minnie at September 8, 2005 10:17 PM

Minnie, the SnB pattern does have some stripes sorta like my pop sweater (which is probably what caught my eye when I was searching for another possible neckline), but it's a drop shoulder sweater with no waist shaping. All the shaping of the body on my sweater is from the Phildar pattern that I originally started making. And the idea for the stripes is from an even different Phildar pattern, for which the yarn was originally purchased. That means that this final sweater will be a fusion of three different patterns!

Posted by: alison at September 8, 2005 10:41 PM

No fair! My three favorite colors all together in one sweater! Now I guess I'll have to make one too.....Or at least something with those colors! :) Looks great!

Posted by: Jenn at September 8, 2005 11:17 PM

Definitly my favorite of the necklines you've tried so far. (yes, I've been lurking that long. :) ) And worth the wait for more yarn. I love how this sweater is turning out!

Love the colors and the neckline is too cute!

Posted by: beth at September 9, 2005 12:36 AM

Hey Alison, That sweater is just gorgeous. I have been wanting to make that sweater from snb for a long time but haven't gotten around to it.
I just wanted to let you know that if one googles the phrase "nudist knitting" one comes up with your "pop" page first--and that is quite a distinction for you, so I thought I'd comment and tell you.

Posted by: Abigail at September 9, 2005 8:36 AM

Funny, Abigail! Thanks for the laugh. Now, why have you been googling "nudist knitting"?? ;0)

Posted by: alison at September 9, 2005 10:24 AM

Looking good. Like the choice of colours :)

I've always liked that hoodie in S&B. Haven't made it yet. Although we also aped the hood design for a little hoodie my husband knit for Veronica with R2 Rag last year. Really cute.

Posted by: LauraA at September 9, 2005 12:24 PM

that is definitely a fun little hoodie!! love the colors and neckline you chose

Posted by: rebecca at September 9, 2005 12:41 PM

Oh, I've met more than a couple nudist knitters in my day! I thought some nudist knitter must have a blog, but there doesn't appear to be a single one in the blogosphere...

Posted by: Abigail at September 10, 2005 10:26 AM

I love these colors!! Can't wait to see the finished sweater.
