the back of things

Two backs, knit almost entirely on my weekend trip to Rhinebeck. That leaves two fronts, four sleeves and one hat to knit in eleven days. Pressure? What pressure?

Well... ready-steady-knit!
Do you mind dropping me an email if the pal who's supposed to knit socks for me belongs to the 14% who haven't gotten back to you? Then I know for sure it will take long. Thanks!

good luck !!!!!! we are all with you ;o)

I have total confidence in you, you'll get them done. Maybe not blocked, but knitted and seamed at least! Good luck..

If anyone could do it, it's you! I'm still marvelling that you got two backs done in a weekend - I'm jealous!

Posted by: Leslie at October 19, 2005 10:16 AM

Absolutely, you can do it! These are going to be sooo cute. A whole lot more effort than I would have gone to. I would have bought T-shirts and just done a wonder-under applique. But the blue hair things, I am all over those.

I'm sure you can do it if you did those on your trip! Knit on!!

Posted by: sedie at October 19, 2005 11:03 AM

You'll make it. Just think of me my daughter's musical Theatre School are going to do Seussical The Musical in the summer - guess who is making the costumes:-)

Posted by: Janine at October 19, 2005 11:13 AM

I know you can do it!
(And am I glad my Halloween knitting is complete!)

Posted by: Songbird at October 19, 2005 11:25 AM

But they're small, wee little sweaters, right? I bet they're done right on schedule.

Posted by: Kathy at October 19, 2005 11:39 AM

Wow.. for a second, I was like "Why in the world would she need 4 sleeves?!?" Until I remembered.. duh, the costumes. :) I'm smart ;)

Posted by: Manda at October 19, 2005 11:41 AM

whoa... yeah, i would have bought red feet-y pajamas and ironed on the decals, but just b/c I know how fast they grow out of costumes, but with yours, maybe they won't be needing big thick coats over costumes! I wish they were trick-or-treating in my neighborhood! hopefully this year will be a good one for new costumes!

how on earth did you knit at Rhinebeck? It looked like the whole weekend was crazy!

Posted by: Kate at October 19, 2005 11:51 AM

11 days, no problem -- I'm sure you can do it! I cannot wait to see the end result.

You are the Speed-Knitting Goddess. Better get the boys in to the photo studio for long-lasting pics of them in their costumes!

Posted by: LeAnne at October 19, 2005 1:23 PM

I agree with LeAnn about the photo studio. My mom made my sister and me Rainbow Brite costumes when I was 5 and she was 2. I was Rainbow Brite and she was Twink! The studio wallet picture I have is one of my favorites of the two of us. I'm planning on scanning it and putting it up on my blog for Halloween.

Your boys are going to look so cute.

are you going to show us a haul from Rhinebeck, I live for seeing other people's hauls?

Posted by: purlpower at October 19, 2005 1:46 PM

I'm dizzy just thinking about it. The boys will be adorable and no doubt you'll have something else on the needles by then!

Posted by: amysue at October 19, 2005 3:04 PM

I'm sure you'll make it. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one knitting Halloween costumes, too!

Posted by: Brynne at October 19, 2005 3:13 PM

No, no! No pressure! They'll look absolutely adorable . . . . just focus on that!

Posted by: Deb at October 19, 2005 6:49 PM

Man, you can knit girl :)

Posted by: Dani at October 19, 2005 7:36 PM

Hey!! I finished my socks and they are in the mail tomorrow! I had emailed my pal a couple of weeks ago to tell her they were going to be late, but they are on their way!
