weasleys' weekly wizard wheezes

Amy made Slytherin and Ravenclaw HiP scarves for her sons (what cuties!)
Joan finished her son's weasley and an Azkaban scarf in time for a Halloween party at school (you have got to see this picture of him all dressed up - I think this is my favorite knitalong pic of all time!)
Ina knitted a great pair of kid's Gryffindor socks and she's giving them away to a blog reader, so go leave a comment to enter the contest!
Mascarasnake finished a big B weasley for her brother
Michelle finished a HiP scarf and sewed some fun fabric on to the back side - what a great idea!

Anmiryam is working on an awesome Quidditch sweater for her daughter
Annie is almost finished with her daughter's Azkaban scarf for her Halloween costume
Becky's Hatmione is looking terrific and she's almost done with a bookscarf too (hey, she's starting a Christmas Stocking Knitalong - neat!)
Emily has made great progress on her Hogsmeade hat (I can't wait for that pattern!)
Jennifer is getting her Azkaban scarf underway (look at the sweet baby in new Trellis cardigan pics - awwww!)
Kat is knitting a pair of Opal Rainforest "Owl" socks in honor of the release of Goblet of Fire
Kathy just finished the intarsia on her son's weasley
MA has started another Gryffindor scarf for a friend for the GoF premiere (gotta wait till Sunday for her weekly pics)
Pixie has pics of progress and puppies
Stephanie is making a weasley in the round and is learning how to do intarsia in the round for the initial (check out her ugly knit entry in the You Knit What? Halloween Contest!)

And with my Halloween knitting, I haven't made any progress on my weasley sweater, but in one of my I-need-to-knit-something-else-to-save-my-hand evenings, I did manage to make this little Gryffindor hat with the leftovers from my HiP scarf.

I've got enough yarn for one more. Who thinks my boys need matching Gryffindor hats?

Okay....that just does it!

You must get a book deal! Now!

I know I sound like a broken record, but, girl, you are soooo talented and have such fabulous taste!

Make two hats :o)

Just to be ornery, I say nah, don't knit another one. rather, I think you should make mittens to match the hat!

Course my opinion doesn't matter. You amaze me. You knit a hat to "rest" your hand. Wow.

Half the fun of two boys (especially twins!) is you can match em when they're wee and too young to complain about it.

Posted by: Kathy at October 29, 2005 12:16 PM

Well, of course they both need them. Do you REALLY want to have to deal with either of them when they BOTH want to wear the hat on the same day? I think NOT!

You are so amazing. How do you finish so much, so fast and so WELL???????

I love that photo of Joan's son!

As to hats... that depends... are they both in the same Hogwarts House? ;)

Posted by: Andrea at October 29, 2005 1:03 PM

of course they need them. what a silly question.

In all my excitement, I forgot to let you know that my Weasley is underway. I may get to join the ranks of the Weasley updaters. :-)

Of course you are going to knit another, but I'd reverse the colors... start with gold around the face. Separate but equal!

Posted by: Johanna at October 29, 2005 2:42 PM

Do it while you can! I try to dress my boys alike, but they're constantly protesting (ages 8 and 10). Go for it!!!!

I was never into the weasley stuff, but my daughter just got accepted to Loyola University and their colors are....well, weasley. Im jumping on the bandwagon.....THANKS

Posted by: kathy b. at October 29, 2005 8:39 PM

I do! I also need that pattern! I could have a scarf, mittens and matching hat set!

Posted by: Karen at October 30, 2005 3:44 PM

They definitely need matching hats, of course!

Posted by: Amber at October 31, 2005 8:27 AM

Of course they need another one. Wouldn't they be jealous if just one has a hat? Can't wait to see the costumes complete. Very cool idea.
