der hausberg

Finally a sunny day, so we decided take a trip up to the local mountain for some sledding. There's no snow on the ground here anymore, but doesn't everyone have a mountain for sledding and skiing a short drive away? Well, they do around here.

Berg ready

wheeeeeeeee!

Actually, it was soooo cold and windy on the mountain that the boys started crying to go home after just one trip down the hill. They enjoyed the ride back to the car at least.

check out that old-timey wooden sled

And where does one go after a trip to the Hausberg? To the HausMcDonalds, of course!

Haaa! When I was 13 and was there everyone told us that the burgers at McDonalds were made out of horse-meat! lol

WHen do you come home!?

Well, at least they go to do a run down the hill and Hey, a trip to HausMcDonald's makes it all OK!

I'm so glad to see all the fun you guys are having and all the yarn porn. Sigh. So much beautiful yarn over there.

Sure, lots of mountains around here :)
Lilja and I had a short trip on our "spark" today - I have no idea what it's called, but it lookes like this:

Is there a word for this thing in the English speeking world?

Is that a tepee in the background of the second photo? [Wonderment]

Wow, I've never seen a spark (damemodell) before, but it looks like a lot of fun! No idea what it would be called in English - maybe spark? (My dictionary says the English word spark comes from the Dutch word for spear. Huh.)

I had a sled like that when I lived in Germany! Aaah! And I really appreciate you blogging your trip there. It makes me happy to remember that beautiful place I grew up.

Do your boys speak German? I guess they do. I took an elementary German course a long time ago ... always like learning a new language ... but can just say Guten Tag now!
Guten Tag. :)

Seems a wonderful sunny day comparing to grey-in-grey Munich today.
