am I glistening?

photography by S, bored look by B

The glisten cardi is done, done, done! It's in the store right now. I had to try it on before I brought it in though, because, yes, I really like it. The style is super cute, even cuter on! So I'm not a fan of the heavy, sparkly, ribbony yarn, but I am seriously considering making this top for myself in some Rowan Summer Tweed I've got in my stash. I'm thinking that if I like it this much in this yarn I can't stand and in the totally wrong size (there's like four extra inches in the chest!), I'll absolutely love it when I make it for myself.

It is cute. And I love the art photography -- far better than in some knitting publications. Have you considered sending S to work soon?

woo hoo! Now you never have to knit with that stuff again. I does look cute - definitely worth the reknit in something you love!

It is a pretty knit.

Adorable! I would look...well...odd...but it is seriously cute on you!

Posted by: Anna at April 13, 2006 9:43 AM

This is absolutely adorable, Alison. With all your yarn challenges, I didn't have high hopes for this one, but it looks fantastic.

It looks fantastic on you - the style is adorable.

I agree with everyone else... it's fab and it looks fantastic on you as well! Love the glimpse of your boy in the back. :) Such cuties!

Looks wonderful, I'll be sure to look for it in the shop window as I drive by (and take out a pedestrian or two!).

It's super cute!

Very cute - can't wait to see what your very own will look like.

Cute! Hee hee, I bet you'll get some good search hits on this post...

I love it!!

Posted by: Scout at April 13, 2006 11:36 AM

What a perfect gift - was it a relatively fast knit? I think a hip recipient would love it. Nice job.

It really is too cute. Does the pattern come in a child's size?

Posted by: Lynn at April 13, 2006 11:54 AM

It looks awesome!! It's super cute!

The first word out of my mouth when I opened your blog today was "Yay!". It is so cute! Kudos on a job well done! I can't wait to see it done in a yarn you like and a size that fits! ;-)

It's very cute. Four stitches you say? I can't see them. I can see it with a tank top when it's hot.

Posted by: Julia at April 13, 2006 1:42 PM

Cutie-patootie! Good on you for sticking with it, though I totally agree with the annoying twisty-ness of the yarn.

Results well worth it!

OMG! Summer Tweed, what a great idea! I have a bunch of skeins of Summer Tweed that I can't figure out what to do with, I've been admiring Glisten w/every post...match made in Heaven.

Thank you Alison, yet again you rock my world!

I love that little cardi!!! Wish it came in larger sizes.

Posted by: Donna at April 13, 2006 3:56 PM

Absolutely adorable! S is a wonderful photographer! I hope you do make one for yourself in the summer tweed. Great yarn and you will enjoy knitting that one!

Posted by: Sandee at April 13, 2006 4:03 PM

I'm also thinking about making another version in another yarn. Besides, think how quickly it will knit up without the twisting ribbon!

Posted by: Brynne at April 13, 2006 4:32 PM

Sorry Lynn, the pattern doesn't have child sizes. Just women's.

But Donna, the cardi is actually sized quite large. The one I made is a medium and measures 42" around the bust. I think the large has got to be at least 48". Check out the info at knittinggarden.com.

I bet it would be all drapey and lovely in the Rowan Summer Tweed! Who knew when you knit it up that it would have so much give. Nice job.

Lookin' good!

Okay, you did an amazing seaming job on this one Alison.. I was in awe today when I saw it in the store. It looks fabulous on you, even though its a bit big :)

Too cute! I want to make one for my daughter...

Posted by: Cindy at April 14, 2006 8:11 AM

Simply beautiful xx

Posted by: Annarella at April 14, 2006 12:13 PM

That would be completely adorable on you, if it actually fit, lol! So cute over a sundress!
