red

Getting a late start today because it's Memorial Day here in America. A day for barbeques, sun, and lots of red, white, and blue. We've actually got hazy sun today, we're going to a barbeque later this afternoon and I've even covered blue and white here on the blog in the last few days. That just leaves red.

It's a new baby sweater on the needles! We have this sweater in the store as a model and it is soooo adorable. When I heard that hubby's work colleage was having a girl, I knew I wanted to make this sweater for the baby. Mandarin Petit is the yarn and the pattern is from Sandnes Mandarin Petit book #0407. 166 stitches on US 3's and I'm loving it!

Very cute pattern! I love that yarn. Is the pattern written in English? I love the little white set too. Happy Memorial Day!

Aawww, Norwegian patterns ;-)
The granny square blancet in the background is even more delitious!

Love, love, love the sweater, but not on 3's! What dedication!

All those stripes! All those ends to weave in! More power to ya!

Wow, Alison, you are a fast knitter! I can't get over how productive you are and I just have to say I love almost everything you knit!

Adorable and so colorful! I don't envy you having to weave in all those ends though!
Hope your memorial Day picnic was lots of fun!

Just wondering if you're still knitting continental, as you were a few months ago. You knit so very fast, unless, of course, you never sleep.

Yes, Bonney, the book does come in English. You can get it online from Bea Ellis.

No, Elizabeth, I'm not very good at knitting continental in the round (and even worse at continental on dpns!), so I'm knitting this with my right again. And all my design projects are being knit with my right hand, since I want to do my best knitting for them. But resting it for the last couple of months with continental projects and cutting down on my computer use really has helped my right hand a lot. I don't have any soreness in my wrist anymore.

I just wanted to let you know that the socks are knitted, packed and will be in the mail tomorrow (Tues) afternoon.

I LOVE Mandarin Petit. Yummy cotton.

I agree Emma - it is a great yarn!
